Why do we need a tail light?

Absolutely every modern car is equipped with illumination and signaling devices that are located inside and outside the vehicle. If you combine all these devices into one single unit, you can get a whole lighting system. In today's article, we would like to talk about such an important element as the taillights.

Functions of these devices

To date, this system of illumination performs a number of functions, among which the following are considered basic:

• Providing roadway lighting for reverse driving. This function is provided by the reversing lamp. It is always painted white and has a much larger light beam than the stop lamps.
• Informing other traffic participants about the presence of the car on the road. All the cars coming from behind will know at night that another vehicle is moving ahead.
• Informing drivers about your direction and emergency situations. The modern tail light is equipped with LED turn signals, which can show the way of the direction of the vehicle or report an emergency (in this case, the "emergency" is activated). Thus, drivers will be aware that on the sidelines, there may be a car, and reduce the speed.

The tail light combines the following light devices:

• stop signal;
• Lights-dimensions;
• Turn signals;
• Reverse signal.

Rear lights are a combined lighting device, which is installed on each car in pairs and symmetrically. Often, in passenger cars, this is a single unit, which includes all of the above signals and lights. Less common are 2 blocks (you can see on the second photo), which are installed in pairs on each side. On this car are not 2, but 4 lights at the rear.

Modern tail lights

If before these devices were very tiny and even awkward, today's stop lights fascinate with their design and can perform several functions at once (lights, dimensions, turn signals, etc.). Now almost every car concern is trying to create the most unique and unique design of lights. Thanks to the development of modern technologies, all the rear lights perfectly fit into the overall appearance of the car and at the same time remain bright and effective. The LED is used as the main lighting element. By the way, such variants of headlights appeared only recently. LEDs are distinguished by their durability and excellent light characteristics. If the taillights of old samples blinded the person's eye, then today's lamps have soft lighting, at the same time they can be seen for several kilometers. Thanks to the availability of LEDs today, many motorists mount them in the old taillights with their own hands. The result is quite impressive, besides the shape of the lamps makes it possible to give the car the maximum individuality and to declare the unique style of its owner.
