Chevrolet Camaro - a cult American car

The history of the Chevrolet Camaro has been going on for almost fifty years. And really, in an attempt to make a serious competition to the incredibly popular Ford Mustang at that time , GM in 1966 demonstrated the first copy of its model. Despite the positioning of the car as completely new, the engineers still borrowed some elements from Corvair and Chevelle. According to the plans of designers from GM, updating the model in 1998 was to be the last and complete its 35-year history. This time the engineers paid most attention to the design of the car, in which there was a spectacular air intake on the hood, as well as thin headlights, slightly extended forward. Probably, it was this fact in 2005 that forced GM to reconsider its decision and resume the production of the model. As a result, in 2010, the first copies of the assembly, belonging to the fifth generation, came off the assembly line. The car is a coupe designed to accommodate four people. Despite a lot of changes, the designers managed to keep the "native" features of the car, which are characteristic of earlier versions. Thus, we have a model in which modern technologies and the spirit of previous generations have organically combined.

At the heart of the latest Chevrolet Camaro is a platform with a rear drive and an independent suspension designed specifically for this model. Under the hood of the novelty, depending on its modification, is placed a 3.6-liter "six" or 6.2-liter "eight", working with a mechanical box. The units accordingly develop 304 and 427 horsepower. It should be noted that the second motor can operate with an automatic machine, but its power in this case is 400 "horses". Despite such powerful engines, the car does not differ too high in fuel consumption. This he should be grateful to a special system that is able to disconnect part of the cylinders independently. Some time later, an open version of the car appeared, the design of which differs only in the absence of a roof. All other features of the model remained untouched. As for the cost of the Chevrolet Camaro, the price in Russia starts at a mark of 2.055 million rubles.
