Why do furuncles appear under the armpit?

Before you figure out how to treat a boil, you need to understand what it is all about. So, the furuncle (in the people - chiray) is an acute purulent inflammation of the hair follicle, sebaceous glands and surrounding tissue, caused by bacteria (in the role of "provocateur" usually acts as a golden staphylococcus). The most common parts of the body on which furuncles appear are the armpits, the inner fold of the elbow, the neck, back, buttocks.

Causes

So, the sharp pain under the arm, the reasons of which, most likely, are hidden in the lurking furuncle, arises unexpectedly. However, what can cause a furuncle? As the most common reason doctors call neglect of hygiene. Skin diseases, for example seborrhea or hyperhidrosis, can worsen the functioning of the sebaceous glands and thereby cause furunculosis. Furuncles under the arm may result from weakened immunity, vitamin deficiency or impaired metabolism.

Symptoms

How do you know if you have a furuncle on your body? Pay attention to the following signs: the skin becomes red and inflamed, a purulent focus with a yellow or white head appears (it can be quite large - this is the core of the boil). In general, the sensations can be characterized as extremely painful. For example, those who had boils under the arm, remember that from the sharp pain it was difficult to move the hand.

Treatment

Furunculosis is fraught with a mass of complications and therefore is subject to immediate treatment. Once you have found a furuncle on your skin, even a small one, be sure to see a doctor. If the boils under the armpit - do it as quickly as possible, because the scars in the armpits remain forever. If you manage to "catch" the disease at the initial stage, then the doctor's actions will be mainly aimed at speeding up the ripening process and opening the abscess. In medicine, Vishnevsky's ointment is successfully used for this purpose . After the boil breaks, all pus must be carefully removed. Do not do it by hand - use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to prevent infection. For the same purpose, disinfect the remaining wound with hydrogen peroxide. The recovery process usually takes from a few days to a week. To accelerate it, you can impose special compresses (they are also needed in order to avoid relapse).

Can I use folk remedies?

Often people do not want to waste time on a visit to a doctor and hope to get by with folk medicine. For example, they remove furuncles under their arm, attach a warm bulb to the wound and use other similar recipes. However, doctors warn: all these drugs contribute to healing of the abscess, but they can not eliminate the main cause of furuncles. If the sores appear on your body regularly, this can only indicate one thing: the disease has gone to a chronic stage. In this case, you will have to undergo antibiotic treatment.

Prevention

Can I do anything to prevent the appearance of boils? Of course, you can. Observe the rules of hygiene, avoid severe hypothermia. If you are injured, always disinfect the damaged area. Do not neglect the intake of vitamins, because strong immunity can do you a good service.
