Where did Savik Schuster go from Ukrainian TV?

For more than a decade, the famous journalist Shuster has been living and working in Ukraine. Behind him is a long way, he is an experienced person in the affairs of the media. Realizing his life views and combining this process with making money, he often changed the television channels that broadcast this or that show with him as a facilitator. The mass audience got used to the broadcasts, so at times the question arose about where Savic Shuster went. And every time it turned out that the presenter was not gone anywhere, and now he is conducting the show on another TV channel.

Short biography before moving to Ukraine

Shusteris Shevelis Mikhailovich was born in the capital of Soviet Lithuania in the autumn of 1952. I studied three semesters at the Vilnius University, at the Medical Faculty. In 1971 he left for Canada with his parents. His father was a footballer, well known, and his mother worked as a lawyer. Five years later, Schuster graduated from McGill University in Montreal. But biology did not attract a young man as much as journalism. Having chosen the career of "pen shark", he was published in many leading periodicals, and this is not surprising. It was not so many who were interested in covering the events in the "hot spots" in the good-humored West. The list of risky business trips is extensive: Israel Chad, Palestine, Lebanon and, finally, Afghanistan. In those years, he was bold and, performing the tasks of "Newswik", "Spiegel" or "Liberation", often participated in the raids of the Mujahideen against the "shuravi", holding a camera. Then there was the radio station "Freedom", where he created the Moscow branch and headed it.

In 1996 he came to Moscow and began his career on NTV. After the conflict in 2001 with the new management of the television company, many employees left it, and Shuster did not follow their example, for which the journalist was fired from the staff of the radio station "Freedom". For him, this did not matter much: he led several programs ("The Third Time", "Hero of the Day", "Influence", "Freedom of Speech"), and the work was enough. But in 2004 the situation changed. In 2005, Russian television refused the services of a journalist. Where did Savik Shuster go? He left for Ukraine.

Ukraine

The first place of Shuster's work in independent Ukraine was the television company ICTV, which in fact belonged to President Kuchma. Here he led the "Freedom of Speech", according to an approximate scenario of this program, all subsequent talk shows were compiled. The technology of this action is simple: it involves representatives of various social groups (as it is declared), but in fact the audience in the hall is recruited from extras who are taken from different cities, paying travel and per diem. The program was quite consistent with the tasks that the management of the television company and concurrently put the country. Where did Savik Shuster go after leaving ICTV? With the same program, the journalist soon switched to Inter, the central Kiev channel.

Under Yushchenko and Yanukovych

The best time for Schuster was the period of Yushchenko's presidency. The transfer of "Great Ukrainians" propagandized the idea of national exclusiveness so beloved by the new leader. In live broadcasts, the president sometimes took personal part, and voting, including interactive, clearly demonstrated the growth of national-patriotic sentiments - weak at first - by the end of the air. Progress was evident. Under Yanukovych, the situation remained practically the same. Despite the assurances of representatives of the current government, the fourth president of Ukraine was by no means a Russian agent, and supported all national ideas, though not as zealously as his predecessor. But everything changes, and in 2007 the journalist decides to open his own TV channel. The audience asked each other about what happened to "Freedom" Savik Shuster, but soon the show along with the showman was revealed on the channel "Ukraine".

Late Shuster

A vivid example of ethereal manipulation can serve as the events of the end of 2012, when the program was a very interesting replacement. "Why did Schuster disappear from the air?" - Both the audience and the journalists broke their heads in January 2013. The response of the leadership of the "First National" did not keep itself waiting and explained the refusal to demonstrate the cutting of the most successful episodes of the show in that the viewer is obviously more interested in the bright show "The Magic of the Circus".

After the overthrow of Yanukovych, it seemed to many that real freedom would now come true. But the transfer of "Shuster LIVE" suddenly disappeared somewhere. And the answer to the question "why Shuster disappeared from the ether" should obviously be sought in the method of his work. Usually the show was carefully directed, but recently the presenter began to abuse such a risky device as the live broadcast. Unpredictable interactive guests filled the content of the debate with very controversial comments, and sometimes with obscene language, which somewhat undermined the reputation of the show. There is also a legal explanation, which, however, gives the answer to the question "why" rather than "where Savik Shuster went missing." The point is that today's Ukrainian government, concerned with the creation of a monolithic information field over the whole country, has issued a number of legislative acts restricting foreign ownership of the media. And Savik, as you know, two citizenships - Italian and Canadian. Against the backdrop of intense monopolization of Ukrainian TV channels, some associations with Russia arise in the mid-1990s, and the names of Gusinsky and Listyev come to mind. Money affairs ended sadly. Will not the sad answer to the question of where Savisk Shuster go?
