What is nail buffs and how to use them

To make a compelling manicure, you need to use the right equipment and tools. In addition to the usual nail files, in the arsenal of each girl should be also a buff. The word is new, because this accessory appeared relatively recently. Therefore, what such buffs, today know not all. But this tool is very useful and convenient in the work. Let us consider in more detail what it is.

The bass is a special type of saw represented by a volumetric parallelepiped that can be used both for processing natural and nails. The word itself is borrowed in English and literally translated as "polish".

Appointment

What are buffs, for sure know the professional masters of manicure. This universal tool can be used both in salon conditions and at home for self- correction of nails. Workers of salons prefer to use disposable buffs for polishing nails. However, modern technology makes it possible to produce nail files for grinding nail plates from a variety of materials, and some of them can be completely disinfected in a standard way.

Masters working with shellac, too, often use a nail buff. What is it and why is it needed? This is often asked by those who decided on shellac for the first time. But those girls who already have experience of wearing a gel manicure, are unlikely to be surprised polishing bars. After all, fans of shellac coating know perfectly well that thorough preliminary polishing is the guarantee of a good result. Gel-lacquer will lie more smoothly and it will be good to keep on the nails.

Abrasiveness

We found out what a bass is. It's time to learn to understand their diversity. It may seem that they are all the same, but this is not so.

The peculiarity of polishing blocks is that all of them are made of soft materials. The buffs are classified according to the material used as the basis. It can be fabric, glass, wood or plastic. Different materials have different abrasiveness. It is this criterion that determines their rigidity.

Simply put, abrasivity depends on the amount of pores on the polishing surface of the bar. In the language of professionals, these pores are called grits. The tool needs to be chosen taking into account abrasiveness and to consider, for what this or that nail buff will be used.

How to choose and use

When choosing a buff, look at the markings. Remember the main groups on the market and always be able to easily find exactly what you need:

  • 60-80 grit. It is used for the treatment of artificial nails on the hands. Can be used for pedicure. These buffs are considered rude and tough;
  • 100-150 grit. Used for corrective procedures for nails. Can be applied before shellac coating for both hands and feet;
  • 150-240 grit. Suitable for small works with artificial nails, as well as for cutting natural nails;
  • 300-450 grit. Can be used only for delicate work with natural nails. Those who know what buffs are and how to work with them, use this kind for the most thorough polishing.

Acquiring a buff for natural nails, consider the features. The thinner the nails, the higher the number on the marking. Do not take a tool with a high abrasiveness for brittle fingernails, otherwise damage, and it will not be easy to restore.

Using

Let's talk about the use of this tool for nails. What is a baff is already more or less understandable, but what to do with it? First of all, remember that the bass and the saw are not the same. Do not abuse this tool. Apply the buff with the wide side to the nail plate. Do this so that the surface covers the maximum area of the nail. Try to exercise as little as possible. In this case, the chances of damaging the nail plate will decrease. Do not change the direction of the saw when polishing. The procedure should be carried out in two directions: to the right and to the left. Do not grind more than once a week, otherwise there is a risk of extremely thinning the surface of the nail, thereby causing him serious injury.

Once a month, use a firming essential oil when treating the root with a bug of the nail. This will seal it.

Alternative

Unfortunately, today such a product as nail buff is not so popular on the market. What is it, many potential buyers already know, but not so many sellers reacted to the growing demand. This does not mean that the goods are classified as scarce and completely inaccessible, but, perhaps, to buy it, you will have to bypass several stores.

And it is desirable to do this. The fillet, even the most tender, will not replace the buff. If the necessary tool is not at hand, it is better to use a piece of coarse cloth. But those who already know what buffs are, are confident that neither nail files, nor cloths of such a good effect will not give.
