We make a bistable relay with our own hands

A bistable relay is a device that is designed to control contacts. The difference from the conventional wired model is that the modification is suitable for parallel pushbuttons. You can control the device from different points.

The standard relay includes a contact block, a modulator and a set of transistors. Condensers in the relay are applied in a negative direction, and they differ in capacitance. If necessary, you can assemble the relay yourself for a simple switch.

Device with a coil

Make a bistable relay with your own hands, the user is capable of using a wire resistor. In this case, the modulator is selected most often for three capacitors, and the expander is used with low conductivity. The control of the bistable relay with the coil occurs at the expense of the controller.

It is also worth noting that the assembly should begin with the preparation of a thyristor. The coil is selected at 24 V. To overcome the impulse noise in the circuit, only variable transducers are used. The negative resistance of the relay must be at least 30 ohms.

We make an impulse modification

A pulse bistable relay can be assembled on a simple wire resistor. The modulator will need an expansion type, and the resistance must be at least 40 ohms. Experts say that the capacitors should be soldered in a sequential order. Particular attention when assembling the relay must be given to the contacts on the closing plate. Quite often the modulator is selected with an overlay. In this case, the conductivity of the resistor should not fall below 4 microns. Thus, the nominal voltage in the device will be maintained at 50 V.

Model with microcontroller

Devices with microcontrollers are very common. They are suitable for pushbutton switches. Also devices are actively used in switches. Experts recommend to use only capacitive resistors for assembly. A total of three capacitors are required for the relay. The nominal voltage is an average of 24 V. At a conductivity of 2 μ, the resistor should give an overload of 10 A.

The modulator for the relay is allowed to use a line type. As a rule, modifications are issued to three outputs. The bistable relay (microcontroller) is controlled by the switch. Also worth noting that there are devices with wire stabilizers. The resistance of the elements should not exceed 45 ohms.

Relay for 5 V

The 5 V relay is assembled with an open modulator. The stabilizer for modification will require a wired type, and the overload should be about 4 A. On average, the resistance of a relay of this type does not exceed 50 ohms. Quite often, contactor expanders are installed. Dipole capacitors are suitable for generating signals. When assembling it is important to prepare four filters. The coil is of low conductivity. Experts say that the lining should be at the beginning of the chain. The rated voltage of the relay should be about 30 V.

10 V devices

Relays of 10 V are made for contactors of the closing type. Resistors for devices are suitable adjustable type with an overload of 2 A. If we talk about simple modifications, then the coil can be safely used with a lining. It should also be noted that only two capacitors are required to assemble the relay.

The conductivity of the elements should not be less than 5 microns. If the rated voltage is greatly increased, it is recommended to check the resistance. Expanders for modifications are of the wave type. The negative resistance of the elements reaches a maximum of 55 ohms. In some cases, phase-to-line resistors are used. They have a low overload parameter, but they are good at dealing with impulse noise.

Modifications to 12 V

The bistable relay (12 volts, automotive) is suitable for wire type contactors. Often it is used in light control systems. The coils for the modifications are suitable for different frequency and diameter. If you trust the experts, then the resistors are allowed to choose an operating type with an open facing. In this case, modulators are used only on the thyristor, and the conductivity of the element will be about 3 microns.

Transceivers under relays are selected in a negative direction. The nominal voltage in the devices can be greatly reduced. This is due to the increased load on the capacitors. To increase the voltage parameter, tetrodes are used, which work from converters. Filters for them are installed with a conductivity of 10 microns.

Devices for detectors

The bistable relay intended for detectors is often found on the market. Control of devices occurs at the expense of the controller. Models for detectors can be made independently. For this purpose, only one resistor is stored. The conductivity of the element must be at least 12 microns with an overload of 2 A. The operating frequency of a relay of this type is approximately 20 Hz. If we consider a simple modification, then the expander is set to 13 V. The contactors are soldered to the resistor. It should also be noted that a transceiver circuit with a conductivity of about 5 microns is required.

If you use high sensitivity elements, there is a risk of increased voltage. In this case, it is more reasonable to install switched thyristors. They are sold with insulators and without them. The most common overload level for the elements is 4 A. They work from dipole-type converters. The contacts can only be mounted before the modulator.

Model for motion sensor

Devices for motion sensors are made very simple. Modules in this case are allowed to use a wave type with a conductivity of 4 microns. In this case, the nominal voltage should be about 30 V. Transceivers for devices are selected on wire resistors. If we consider a circuit with dipole conductors, we need an expander. Also it should be noted that experts advise not to use conductor resistors with low sensitivity. They have a small threshold of conductivity, they quickly overheat. The capacitors for the relays are selected at 4 pF. This capacity is sufficient for fast generation of pulses.

Devices for light sensors

A bistable relay for sensors is allowed to be made on the basis of two high conductivity modules. First of all, the resistor is stored in the assembly. The nominal voltage at it should make 15 V. Also it is necessary to take care of a chain of condensers with high capacity. Thyristor will need only one. Experts say that it is possible to improve the stability of the element by using variable lockers.

These devices are sold with and without plates. Their operating frequency fluctuates around 40 Hz. The resistance in the circuit does not drop below 55 ohms. Expanders are installed at the beginning of the circuit and must be in front of the contacts. To check conductivity, you can use a tester.

Modifications with variable modulator

A bistable relay with a variable modulator is well suited for detectors of different directions. Most modifications come with open resistors. To assemble the relay yourself, it is more expedient to use a phase expander. The modulator in the device is installed immediately after the contacts. Also it should be noted that there are modifications on wire expanders. They have a small threshold of conductivity. However, they can work in an alternating current circuit. The stabilizer for the relay can be selected on a conductor basis. The nominal voltage of the element must be at least 24 V.

Application of contact modulators

A bistable relay with contact modulators is used in DC and AC circuits. Many modifications are available with open-type resistors and conductivity at 5 microns. In this case, they have a nominal voltage of only 14 V. The modulator is placed in the device behind the resistor. Also it should be noted that only one capacitor is required for the assembly.

If we consider a simple relay, then the element is better to use a capacitive type of 3 pF. The conductivity should not be 15 m. Stabilizers in devices of this type are installed with a phase switch. At a nominal voltage of 10 V, the model produces an average of 30 Hz.

Expanders are used in different frequencies. Specialists say that it is possible to take only open filters with a conductivity of 5 microns. However, one must take into account the fact that they have high heat losses. The capacitors with these filters will be given a large load.
