What does the Vladimir Church look like?

The famous architect Vasily Bazhenov made a lot of efforts to create not just a temple, but a whole work of art, and he succeeded to the full. It's enough just to look at the photos to see for yourself. A bright temple, high spiers, crossed into the sky, and a spectacular entrance staircase are no worse than in European castles, will impress any tourist, even far from religiousness.

The church has 2 symmetrical bell towers, which are located on the sides of the building, and the facades are decorated with double air porticos.

The church consists of two temples. Lower, Christ-Christmas, accepts all comers to join divine services. The upper church is named after the famous Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, and there is no access to it, since the staircase is in an emergency condition. If we talk about architecture, the first temple is an oval room, to which, as it were, the bell towers and the rectangular refectory between them are attached.

Also in the ensemble of the church is a small, but quite high chapel, made in a general style, which was supposedly designed by the architect II Tamansky. Unfortunately, exactly the author of this creation is not established.

The beautiful appearance is complemented by a beautifully manicured garden around which the ministers care. All summer, various flowers bloom here. Moreover, there is also a small vegetable garden nearby, where vegetables and fruits are grown.

What is famous for the Vladimir Church

The Vladimir Church is interesting primarily for its unusual style, which is also called Russian Gothic. It differs in that it seems more like a building from a kind fairy tale than on gloomy European temples. And if the latter are decorated with evil gargoyles, then the Church of Vladimir shows us the faces of saints.

It is hardly possible to find something similar in the whole of Russia. Very impressive building - the Vladimir Church. Bykovo, unfortunately, can not boast of such beauty today. The fact is that the manor gradually comes to desolation, while the temple looks much more well-groomed.

On the territory of the attractions are also a summer blooming park and large ponds.

Vasily Bazhenov was able to create a real masterpiece of architecture that inspires people to gain faith. The building was completed in 1789, and almost a century later a separate chapel appeared next to it.

Icons

The most famous icon in the church, no doubt, is the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. It is located just behind the altar, to the left of it. It is believed that the icon helps believers, and it really seems that this is so, because it is hung with rings, chains and crosses of people who received the long-awaited help.

The attendants of the church are proud of one more masterpiece - the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It is notable for the fact that the owner's family was presented by Emperor Nicholas I. The two icons can be seen in the church today.

Inside the temple is beautifully painted, and many paintings are painted directly on the ceiling and walls. All this splendor was carefully restored, and today causes genuine delight among the visitors of the church.

Surprisingly, despite all the adversity that the church has endured, it still contains the creations of the famous Russian artists - the Vasnetsov brothers.

Bykovo Manor, Ramensky District

The estate of MM Izmailov, the favorite of Catherine II and the Governor-General of Moscow, is another interesting place. It is located in Bykovo, Ramensky district. However, until the present day, not the house of Izmailov, but the later version, built in the late 18th century by new owners under the leadership of the Vorontsovs-Dashkovs, has survived. The house had to be rebuilt, only the foundation remained from the old structure.

After the Vorontsov-Dashkovs, the house was sold by Ilyin, and in the Soviet time it was privatized. At one time it was used as a shelter for homeless children, and then as a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients. Over the years, the interior of the once luxurious manor has changed beyond recognition.

Now it is not recommended to go inside the building, however, there definitely is something to look at from outside. So, the main element that attracts the attention of visitors is the magnificent caryatids located at the very top of the columns supporting the balcony.
