Viktor Ivanovich Balashov was born in the distant 1924 in Moscow. He grew up in an ordinary family. From an early age, he gravitated toward art. Years of War

The future announcer Balashov Victor Ivanovich lost his father quite early. He died the death of the brave in the bloody battle near Smolensk. This fact became one of those that compelled the eighteen-year-old to go to the front as a volunteer. From February to December 1943 he was a member of one of the divisions on the Volkhov Front. In 1944 he served in the infantry regiment and defended his homeland on the Leningrad front. In the same year he managed to fight in the ranks of another division on the Leningrad front.

In the summer of 1943, the division, in which Viktor Balashov fought, began the offensive against the fascists. Three times the Germans repulsed the attacks of Soviet soldiers, but on the fourth their defense gave slack, and the Russians managed to get to the trenches of the enemy, where it was necessary to gain a foothold. In the trenches began the worst - the battle between the Germans and the Russian soldiers. It was in this battle that the young man received the first wound, from which he nearly died.

In the spring of 1944, he will receive a second wound. This will happen during Narva's crossing. Victor was behind a machine gun. His task was to support the units that went on the offensive. It is worth noting that, in addition to supporting the advancing, together with other machine-gunners, repulsed several counterattacks of the German fascist invaders.
