Urbi Emanuelson: biography, achievements

Urbi Emanuelson - a bright Dutch footballer, born in 1986. One of the pupils of the legendary school of Amsterdam "Ajax", the greatest success achieved in the Italian series "A", managed to prove itself and in its national team.

Pupil of "Ajax"

Dutch "Ajax" is one of the main suppliers of young stars to the European football market. Among the legendary players of this sports school are Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, Frank de Boer, Dennis Bergkamp. Urbi Emanuelson, about which we speak today, you can say, began his career also in this club. The football player played already at the age of 5 in the little-known "Worland" team, and already at the age of 8 moved to the main grandee of the Dutch championship. This has been a good left midfielder since childhood. In total, Urbi spent 10 years at the Academy of Ajax.

Since 2002, football player Urbi Emanuelson played in the youth team (under 17 years). In 2006, at the European Youth Championships, he got into the symbolic national team of the tournament. The Netherlands national football team won the European Youth Championship for the first time in history, beating Ukraine 3: 0 in the final.

Successes in the Motherland

As part of the adult "Ajax" Urbi Emanuelson first appeared on the field in the 2004-2005 season. True, I played very rarely that year - only 3 matches in the championship.

The main player of the club Urbi was the next year, after 41 matches in the "Ajax" and scoring 2 goals. Although then the Amsterdamers were left without medals, taking only the 4th place.

The next season was one of the most dramatic for both Ajax and Urbi Emanuelson. His team throughout the season worthy of fighting for the victory in the championship with PSV and AZ. As a result, the team from Alkmaar at the end of the lag behind, and with the team from Eindhoven, "Ajax" finished the season on the next lines, gaining 75 points. And only on additional indicators Emanuelson's team lost.

The best in Holland

The most successful for Emanuelson in the Netherlands was the 2010-2011 season. "Ajax" finally managed to interrupt a protracted series of defeats and become the first in the top division of the Netherlands. Urbi Emanuelson in the championship played only in half of the matches, but was the main player in European competition.

"Ajax" began the fight with the third qualifying round, twice drawing a draw with the Greek PAOK - 1: 1 and 3: 3. And only thanks to more goals scored at a party, passed on. In the struggle for the right to play in the main tournament, the Dutch beat the Dynamo Kyiv club and ended up with Madrid "Real", Italian "Milan" and French "Auxerre".

"Real" in that year was irresistible, winning 5 games out of 6 (1 - draw). The Dutch could seriously compete for the second place with AC Milan, but the defeat in the 4-th round from the "Auxerre" 1: 2 confused all the cards. And before the last game on the "San Siro" Italians guaranteed a second place. "Ajax" did not play after the sleeve - won 2-0. Emanuelson, it seems, well remembered the bosses of "Milan", because the next season he moved to the series "A".

If you sum up the performance of Urbi at home, then for 7 years he once won the Dutch championship, 3 times the cup and the Dutch Super Cup.

Italian business trip

In January 2011, Urbi Emanuelson signed a three-year contract with Milan. And in three days he made his debut in the cup match against "Sampdoria", which ended with the victory of his team 2: 1.

In April, in the home semifinals of the Cup against Palermo, Emanuelson scored a goal in the 76th minute, not allowing the team to lose - 2: 2. In the return meeting, Emanuelson's goal was not enough - "Milan" lost and dropped out of the rally.

Having spent the second part of the championship in the team, he helped not to lose the gained advantage and to register the champion title. So, in the first year on the Apennine peninsula Urbi became the best in Italy.

Things started to decline

In "Milan", he spent three more seasons, though, not always the mentors were pleased with him. In 2012, things went so badly that Emanuelson was loaned to English "Fulham" for six months.

"Fulham" in that year fought in the Premier League, being able not only to keep a residence permit for the next season, but also take quite worthy for this team 12th place. Urbi spent 13 foul matches on Foggy Albion, marking with one goal scored.

In 2014, finally parting with "Milan", first played in "Roma", then in "Atalanta", but in none of the clubs to gain a foothold in the first team could not.

In 2016, Emanuelson signed a contract with the team "Ellas Verona", which failed to keep a residence permit in the series "A", taking the last place. In 38 games we managed to win only 5 wins, so the chances of retaining a residence permit in the elite of Verontsy were lost long before the end of the season.

In the national team

The Dutch national football team first summoned Emanuelson to its ranks in August 2006. He made his debut in a friendly match with the Irish, coming on as a substitute at 61 minutes instead of defender Tim de Claire. That match ended with a convincing victory of the Netherlands - 4: 0.

Emanuelson took part in the qualifying tournament for the 2008 and 2012 World Championships and the 2014 European Championships. Most actively played on the eve of Euro-98, having participated in 7 matches. The Dutch successfully entered the tournament, but Urbi did not qualify.

But in 2008 Emanuelson went to the Olympic Games in Beijing, playing there in the starting lineup. The first match with the traditionally strong Nigerians at the Olympics, the Dutch brought in a draw 0: 0. Then they played 2-2 with the US team, and in the decisive match for the right to go to the playoffs they met with the Japanese. The goal of Herald of Sibon from the penalty spot brought the victory 1: 0.

Stopped the Dutch squad in the quarter finals of Argentina, which won with a score of 2: 1. One of the goals was scored by Leonel Messi.

For Emanuelson, the career in the national team ended in 2012. In the qualifying match at the 2014 World Cup he was replaced by Andorra.
