Types of humidifiers for air. Choose an air humidifier

It is unlikely for anyone that it will be a discovery that with the advent of winter and the beginning of the heating season, the air in our apartments becomes dry. This is the cause of many diseases. Summer time also does not bode well for our body. Dust and poplar fluff, cigarette smoke and exhaust gases all enter our apartments through open windows and cause allergies, headaches and respiratory diseases. All this can be avoided by installing in your house a small but very useful device - an ultrasonic air humidifier. In fact, this is no less important device than a gas stove or refrigerator. Of course, you can assemble an ultrasonic air humidifier with your own hands, there is nothing impossible in this, but this is a topic for a separate article. And in this article we will try to consider the existing types of air humidifiers and understand why the air humidifier is the best choice for today.

At the moment, there are three types of humidifiers in the world : steam, mechanical (also traditional) and air humidifier.

Steam humidifiers are the simplest, cheapest, and therefore the most popular. The principle of their operation is quite simple. The device is filled with water, which by means of two electrodes is converted into steam, which is then output to the outside. Simplicity in the case of steam humidifiers is not the key to success. This type has a lot of shortcomings. They make a lot of noise. Steam at the outlet has a high temperature, and this is fraught with burns. In addition, such humidifiers consume a huge amount of electricity.

Mechanical, or as they are also called cold-type humidifiers, distinguishes the lack of heating elements. The liquid from the tank gets into a special compartment, in which there are replaceable disposable cartridges. The air, pumped by the fan, passes through these cartridges, is moistened and discharged outside. This device has its drawbacks. First of all, this is a high noise, which makes it impossible to install such a device in the nursery or bedroom. In addition, the device is only able to maintain a balance of humidity in the room, but does not increase its content in the air.

The top of the evolution of household air humidifiers can be considered as an ultrasonic air humidifier. This is a rather complicated device in the technical sense , the principle of operation of which is based on the properties of ultrasound. In the bowels of this apparatus there is a special plate, which under the influence of ultrasonic waves turns the liquid into cold vapor. A distinctive feature of this type of humidifier is the ability to adjust the humidity level. It is carried out both in manual and in automatic mode. What else gives rise to think that the best air humidifier is ultrasonic? Low noise level. It is an order of magnitude lower than that of steam, and even more so of a mechanical humidifier. In addition, ultrasonic humidifiers have a very useful function - water heating. Ultrasound, the action of which is based on the principle of the device, is absolutely safe for both humans and pets. Such a device is perfect for installation in a children's room and in the bedroom. The only drawback of ultrasonic humidifiers is that they require more thorough care than steam or mechanical. In order to soften the tap water you will need consumables - cartridges.

To date, the production of ultrasonic humidifiers is engaged in many companies. Particular attention should be paid to the models presented by Electrolux and Boneco. The company Electrolux released on the market model EHU-5525D, which has a modern design and the necessary set of functions. In addition, the models of this company are distinguished by a high degree of reliability and low price. Boneco humidifiers are extremely easy to maintain. For example, in the model 7131 it is enough just to change the cartridge. This procedure must be performed every three months.
