Turpentine ointment. Application

Not so long ago in the first aid kit, each family had to find a remedy like turpentine ointment. It was actively used as a means to combat pain in the back and joints, as a warming compress in viral diseases (colds, flu) and was a "cure" from excess weight. Modern drugs quickly took the place of this universal "folk" remedy for many ailments. How much it is deserved, we also will try to understand.

What is turpentine?

Turpentine (aka turpentine) is a product of processing resin of coniferous trees, usually a family of pine trees. The main component is the resin - pine resin, which was distilled with steam. Today turpentine is presented in two varieties, each of which is used for certain purposes. Terrentine can be a technical or essential oil that is actively used for cosmetic purposes.

Essential oil is a component of a considerable number of medicinal preparations, one of the most famous ones is familiar to us, as a turpentine ointment. This remedy is used to treat rheumatism, myositis, neuralgia. It is recommended as an analgesic medicine. In addition, turpentine ointment irritates the skin, which in turn improves blood circulation and acts as an antiseptic.

Recycled gum is endowed with strong antimicrobial properties. This quality has not gone unnoticed by many healers and seems to be a rather effective wound-healing remedy that, besides speeding up the process of tightening wounds, is also able to rid the skin of trophic ulcers. In addition, medicine men often recommend taking turpentine oil inside, but this method of application carries a rather strong health risk and is excluded by classical medicine. In this connection, the question often arises: is it not harmful to turpentine ointment in general? How effective is its use?

Among a number of recommendations, one can also identify a product such as turpentine ointment for weight loss. The damage from its use is very conditional. The fact is that the very rubbing itself is practically incapable of leading to negative consequences. It's all about the intensity of its use. As you know, after applying the product, the processed part of the body should be covered for 15-20 minutes or wrapped with a warm scarf. With more prolonged and frequent use, turpentine ointment can cause severe irritation. We need to be extremely careful about this and remember that everything is good in moderation.

Similar consequences are awaited for those for whom turpentine ointment has become the main means for fighting ARVI and bronchitis. It is forbidden to apply ointment on the area of the heart and the place of burns. Also, to fight against viral diseases, it is possible to add a few drops to a container with warm water for stripping the legs, but only in the absence of an elevated temperature.

Quite often a turpentine ointment for weight loss and turpentine baths (with a white-yellow or mixed emulsion) help to cope pretty quickly with cellulite. But, like any other folk remedy, such use can cause serious side effects. White emulsion increases pressure, yellow - vice versa. The mixed composition is used only by people who have blood pressure within normal limits.

A special place is occupied by turpentine ointment from lice. Effective and inexpensive means has perfectly proved itself more than 100 years ago. But use it is very careful. Incorrect use will provide you a direct way to the dermatologist. Because of its composition, this drug causes burning of the skin, and if the rules of caution are not observed, you can get rid of not only parasites, but also of a considerable amount of hair, plus all possible damage to the integrity of the epidermis.

Turpentine ointment from lice, as well as essential oil, ideally is used after consultation with a doctor. Remember, self-medication - though accessible, but extremely unsafe hobby. Be healthy!
