Treatment with UHF. What it is?

In modern medicine, in addition to treatment with all kinds of drugs, methods of apparatus physiotherapy are widely used, such as inhalation, electrophoresis, inductometry, magnetotherapy, electrostimulation, UHF. What is it, hardly knows a person who did not have to undergo such procedures. However, the effectiveness of these methods has been proved in practice. Often they are indispensable in restoring work ability, during rehabilitation, after suffering injuries or illnesses.

UHF-physiotherapy. Its features and mechanism of impact

The process of rehabilitation of the patient can continue for a long time. In those cases when an additional thermal effect on human organs and tissues is required to accelerate the body's regenerative processes , a method of therapy using an ultra-high-frequency electric field (UHF) is used. What it is? Most accurately this procedure can be characterized as the process of artificial generation of endogenous (arising inside) heating of cells and tissues of the body with the help of electromagnetic radiation. This field provokes ion oscillations, the displacement of atomic groups, as a result of which the energy absorbed by the tissues is converted into thermal energy. Most heat is able to produce bone tissue and subcutaneous cells, much less - blood, lymph, muscles, nerve tissues. The action of the field promotes irritation of nerve endings, changes in biological and physicochemical processes.

How UHF therapy is carried out

Before proceeding to the UHF course, the physiotherapist carefully studies the features of the transferred disease (trauma), allocates problem areas of the body or organs, the restoration of which should be given more or less attention. Then the doctor determines the most optimal technique for conducting UHF. What it is? What methods are used to warm up individual parts of the body?

UHF-therapy apparatus is equipped with two condenser plates. They are installed in longitudinal, transverse directions or at an angle to the human body. The distance from the plates to the surface of the body is determined individually, but in no case should it be less than the diameter of the plates. Dependence of their location depends on the strength, depth and area of penetration of the electric field.

Doses of the action of an ultrahigh-frequency electric field

  • Athermal (a dose of a weak, warm patient almost does not feel).
  • Oligothermic (the patient feels weak heat, the apparatus operates at output power).
  • Thermal (the patient feels intense heat).

Applications of UHF

  • Inflammation of the skin, including purulent.
  • Diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Inflammation of the respiratory system.
  • Pathological processes in the peripheral nervous system.
  • Inflammatory processes in the digestive tract.
  • Gynecological diseases.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy.
  • Presence of oncology.
  • Hypotension.
  • Cardiovascular failure.

So, UHF. What it is? This is a physiotherapeutic way of healing and rehabilitation, used in conjunction with other methods of treatment.
