The question of what Americans eat for breakfast is quite difficult, because even a snap as a response, you can offer several options.   • Smoked fish: salmon, sturgeon, trout, herring. It is served cold with bread, capers and onions. This is a fairly luxurious breakfast, which is almost not everyday.

A hot American breakfast usually consists of the following products:

  • Sausage and meat products: bacon, ham, sausages, small steak, corned beef.
  • Vegetables: potatoes (fries, chips, hashbrown), baked or fried beans, corn (cornmeal porridge, popular in the south). As a rule, this garnish is combined with cookies and rolls.

Elements of American breakfast in the restaurant

Some complex egg dishes are served on festive morning banquets or in restaurants. They include Benedict eggs (egg poached on an English bun or toast with a slice of Canadian bacon, covered with thick Dutch sauce) and eggs in Florentine style (covered with fresh spinach in cheese sauce).

It is known in America and such a dish as Huevos Rancheros - Mexican national food, which is an omelette with onions, tomatoes, chili and garlic. It is served in a hot red sauce.

An American omelet can include various ingredients. Common additions include cheese, mushrooms, onions, sliced green or red sweet peppers, diced croissants, bacon, chili, and various other chopped meat and vegetables.

Fast food restaurants, for example McDonalds, offer a special menu for American breakfast: egg sandwiches, sausages, cheese in English baked goods. Many Americans prefer similar egg sandwiches with plain bread or in pita bread, especially as a quick breakfast on the go.

Pancakes in American style

There is also another way to cook bacon - in the oven. To do this, spread the strips of bacon to foil, and then bake for a few minutes.

Muesli

Muesli is one of the best options for a healthy breakfast. Americans use a little oil when preparing this snack. It makes muesli more tender and nourishing. How to cook a delicious American breakfast with them?

To do this, in the store muesli, add a little dried apples and mix well. In addition, you can add any nuts - pecans, almonds, walnuts and so on. This mixture is especially tasty in combination with Greek yoghurt or with cold milk.

Omelet

It is necessary to beat the eggs very carefully, so that not a single strip of egg white remains. Then add a pinch of salt and grated cheese. In addition, you can add any products to the filling as you like: canned corn, peas, chopped vegetables, ham, bacon and so on. You can mix several types of fillings and get a tasty, satisfying dish.
