This terrible disease is black pox

Earlier, one of the most terrible diseases leading to the death of a patient was considered to be smallpox. Now this virus is completely defeated, so it's almost impossible to meet it. This infectious disease is transmitted by airborne droplets by direct contact with the infected person. Outwardly it appears as the strongest rash covering the patient's body with large black blisters.

The greatest risk of infection occurs in the first week after the rash, because at this time in the human saliva the maximum amount of contaminated particles accumulates. After the formation of scars on the skin, the possibility of transmission of infection is significantly reduced, but does not completely disappear.

Smallpox virus begins to develop when it enters the lymph nodes, and on the fourth day, along with the blood flow, spreads throughout the body and, mainly, to the bone marrow and spleen area. The incubation period is about 8 days, that is, during this time the disease does not manifest itself in any way.

The first symptomatic manifestations include a sharp increase in body temperature and general weakness. After spreading through all the blood vessels of the body, the infected cells begin to penetrate into the upper layers of the skin. The inflammatory process provokes swelling and the appearance of blisters.

Already on day 12, blackpox is manifested by pain in the muscles, back, severe headache accompanied by vomiting. Against the background of general malaise, clouding of mind is observed. Two weeks after infection, an infection develops a rash, which literally turns into bubbles filled with fluid within a day. Gradually the eruptions harden and darken, then burst, forming wounds. And already three weeks after infection they are covered with a crust, after healing of which there are scars.

First of all, the smallpox manifests itself in the mucous membrane of the mouth, as well as on the face and arms, gradually spreading throughout the body. And the speed of infection spreads, because the rash, which was traced only on the face, is on the whole body of the patient the next day.

Pox disease can be mistaken for common chickenpox. Its distinctive feature is that after the rash the patient feels much better, the body temperature is normalized, while with a chickenpox the rash only worsens the health of the infected.

As a rule, people who received vaccinations 20 years ago are reliably protected from infection with this infection. Vaccination is used as a prophylaxis for direct contact with a sick person. The vaccine must be delivered within 4 days from the date of contact. At the same time, all relatives and close people are under strict control of doctors, because they could at any time to catch an infection.

After vaccination, a small wound forms in this place, it contains a live, active virus, which means that tactile contact can spread the rash all over the body, as well as infect another person. To avoid such consequences, you should carefully wash your hands, both the person who received the vaccine, and all his surroundings.

According to theoretical data, this disease is not transmitted by inheritance, that is, a pregnant woman infected with smallpox can tolerate a baby. But in practice it is very difficult to achieve this, because the general condition of the future mother is such that she can not sustain the process itself. The last case of infection with black smallpox was observed in 1977, after which it was possible to get rid of the virus forever.

Blackpox is a disease that modern doctors could not cure. Everything in which medicine is strong is the maintenance of the general condition of the patient with the help of antibiotics. Thus, only symptoms are eliminated, but not the virus itself. Nevertheless, this disease was completely destroyed due to widespread vaccination, so there is no reason to fear its reoccurrence.
