The series "Rage": reviews, reviews, comments

The new film "Fury" directed by David Eyer, staged at the Grisbi Productions in 2013, has become the most successful film project of recent years. The plot did not end with a "happy end", which moviegoers are so fond of. And, perhaps, therefore, the film "Fury", the release of which took place on October 17, 2014, made a real sensation. The public took the cinemas by storm. When it became clear that "Rage" (the film of 2014) caused such an excitement, the show was organized on the furthest periphery. Its goal is to attract as many viewers as possible. At the same time managers were guided not only by commercial interests - everyone wanted to see as many viewers as possible the militant "Rage", the film of 2014.

Income

With a fairly modest budget of $ 68 million, the box office at the box office was $ 195,609,098. This is a kind of record that has not yet been closed to anyone. In addition to good box office records, the film "Rage", the reviews on which were also impressive, became an example of talented actors playing.

Directed by David Eyer

The success of the film contributed to the professionalism of the director, who once put several famous films. On the account of David Eyer the militant "Sabotage" with Schwarzenegger in the title role, "Kings of the streets" with Hugh Laurie and Keanu Reeves. The action "Rage" was presented in a completely different genre, but the director brilliantly coped with the production.

Ayer tactics

First of all, the master decided to put "at the head" of the relationship between people, in this case the interaction of the crew members of the American tank Sherman. It was relations between soldiers on a purely human level that formed the basis of the plot. The director immediately assumed the possibility of manifesting the fatherly concern of commander Don Collier in relation to Norman Ellison, the young radio operator.

This was not indicated in the course of the development of the plot, but the viewer nevertheless felt certain threads connecting Collier and Ellison. With these impressions, the film "Rage" began, reviews of which both critics and ordinary viewers were profound and sincere.

The theme of the war in the cinema was always considered inaccessible to the film adaptation. Therefore, any talented production caused a very good reception for moviegoers. All those who watched the film "Rage", feedback and their opinion about the film expressed in words in an excellent degree.

Cohesion

Once director David Eyer during the interview shared with journalists information about how he deliberately kept the actors in the barracks position, tried to deprive them of the most necessary, so that the performers of the roles felt, as it may be in reality, in a real combat situation.

The performer of the main role Brad Pitt told how the actors lived for several days in a special training camp, did not sleep at night, conducted night observations, laid out in training. They were hungry and freezing, but were ready for real trials, in this case - for truthful shooting.

Logan Lerman, who played the role of Norman Ellison, recalled how the crew members spent together every minute - on the armor, inside the tank, everywhere and everywhere, how hard it was to communicate in the tower of the tank, because there it is incredibly tight and stuffy.

How Brad Pitt "slept" in his own role

Brad Pitt tried to spend all his time on the tank or inside it. He also slept in the tower of Sherman, went out in the morning rumpled and sleepy, which, in fact, the soldiers of the Second World War should look like. "Fury," c / f war time, demanded complete certainty. No makeup could not give the crew members of the American Sherman tank an expression of anxiety or fear for their lives, these feelings had to come from within.

The role of Don Collier was claimed by several other actors, however, according to the results of casting, Brad Pitt was chosen. "Fury" is a film penetrated with military tension, the quintessence of human destinies.

"Sherman" and "Tiger"

David Eyer scrupulously approached the work on "Fury", the realism of filming was declared to them a paramount condition.

The reliability of the script was checked many times, materials of the Second World War were raised, to which the assistants of the director regularly addressed. To shoot it was decided to attract real tanks, once participated in the battles. Computer creators of the film were completely excluded from circulation. The action "Rage" demanded on-site shooting.

Tanks as characters

With great difficulty, it was possible to find a tank brand "Sherman", which could show all the advantages of an armored military vehicle. After finishing, lubricating and painting the rarity was ready for shooting. A similar situation arose when looking for German "Tigers", which since the war was dismantled and placed in museums. But, in the end, the fleet of combat vehicles was formed, and David Ayer began to shoot. So the film "Rage" was created, reviews on which were presented by film critics in the amount of 206 reviews, after the film was held at the box office.

The plot of the movie

The events that are reflected in the film take place in Germany at the end of World War II. The action is developing in April 1945, when the German troops of the Third Reich still provided desperate resistance to the allied forces.

In the center of the story is the crew of the American tank Sherman:

  • Sergeant Don Collier, commander;
  • Corporal Trini Garcia, driver-mechanic;
  • Private Norman Ellison, the gunner-radio operator;
  • Private Grady Travis, charging;
  • Technician Swan Boyd, the gunner.

Front friendship

An experienced Don Collier, who has fighting in Africa, who knows the psychology of war well, is trying to rally the crew. He understands that this is the only way to resist the enemy. The disunity of the crew members threatens to kill everyone. The situation is complicated by the fact that the radio operator Norman Ellison has an unstable psyche - he is unable to kill a person. Even if he himself is in danger of mortal danger, he can not shoot at the enemy.

The tank commander has to correct the problems associated with Ellison on the move. In the end, Don Collier goes to extreme measures - orders Norman to shoot a captured German soldier from a revolver. The commander's order must be executed, and the radio operator Allison, squinting, pulls the trigger. The German soldier is dead, the lesson proved useful. In the next battle, Norman Allison is already confidently scribbling machine guns against the Nazis, as a result of which he kills five enemy soldiers on the spot.

Fighting

Continuous fighting takes place in a difficult situation for the American tank crew. Their combat vehicle is inferior to the firepower of the German "Tigers". Maneuverability of the tank "Sherman" also leaves much to be desired. The crew of Don Collier struggles to withstand the onslaught of the German formations and miraculously comes out of a fierce battle without serious losses.

Soon the commander of a tank platoon is dying, and Sergeant Collier takes over the command of the unit. Several "Sherman" under his command come to the rescue of the American infantrymen who are surrounded. The anti-tank German battery is destroyed, the soldiers of the allied forces are released.

Irma and Emma

During intense battles, American troops occupy a small German town. Don Collier intends to settle for the night in a house together with his crew. He enters the first apartment and finds a lonely woman named Irma. The German does not object to the military visit, but her cousin Emma is hiding under the bed under the fear. Collier and Norman Ellison, who joined him, are in the room.

Emma crawls out from under the bed, fear gives way to trust. Later between Norman and the girl there will be mutual sympathy, and they can retire for a while in the next room. As you know, love is not under war.

In the meantime, Collier places a soldier's ration on the table, the hours of rest pass quickly, and the tankmen return to service. Norman's farewell to Emma does not do without tears. Then the tank unit leaves the city. Slim lines of troops began to advance to the front line. As soon as the Shermans retreated a few kilometers, bombers appeared over the city. Several air bombs covered the quarter where the crew of Don Collier had just rested. The hospitable hostess's house was destroyed by the direct hit of a deadly land mine. Irma and Emma died instantly.

Ambush

On the march, Collier's tank unit is ambushed by the Germans. Two "Tigers" enter into battle with four "Sherman". The Americans won the fight, but they had to pay dearly for the victory - only five remained alive.

To top it all, Collier's tank and crew are exploding on a powerful anti-tank mine. The car has a damaged chassis, repairs are necessary. While the mechanic and the rest of the crew, including the commander, are trying to return the fighting form to Sherman, Norman Ellison goes into the reconnaissance. He reports to his comrades-in-arms about the approach of considerable enemy forces. The enemy moves on armored vehicles that are not vulnerable to the "Rage" projectiles - as by that time the soldiers had already called the Don Collier's tank. However, "Sherman" is not going to give up, he is ready to take an unequal battle and win.

The last battle

Crew members against a direct collision, Norman Ellison and other soldiers offer to retreat and thereby gain time, wait for reinforcements. The commander orders to stay and take the fight.

The damaged "Sherman" enters into an unequal battle with the enemy, one by one the members of the heroic crew perish. Ammunition is running out, there is nowhere to wait for reinforcements. Norman Allison again and again suggests surrendering. Don Collier orders to stand up to the end. The next minute, the commander is mortally wounded. Of the last forces he tries to say something, but soon dies.

Epilogue

Allison gets out of the tank through the lower hatch. His chances of salvation are negligible, he already sees his death, as there are many enemy soldiers around with automatic weapons at the ready. Norman remains lying under the tank, and then he notices the young corporal of the German SS group . For some reason, he decides not to kill an American and passes by. Fortunately, the Nazi commander announces the withdrawal, and the armored personnel carriers leave.

Norman Allison struggles to get back into the tank and spend the whole night there. The next morning they find the part of the Allies that came up.
