In 2000, a multiseries film by Svetlana Druzhinina appeared on TV screens, in which each episode lasts more than an hour and reveals the key moment of Russian history. It is on what principle the picture "Secrets of palace coups" is arranged.

The actors of the episode "The Emperor's Testament" reveal the veil that hides the events of the last days of the life of Great Peter. Peter the First has always been busy with seething activity and did not think about death. However, the time of "X" came, and the great emperor did not leave a will after himself. After the death of Peter in the walls of the imperial palace flared serious passions and unfolded a fierce battle for the throne, in the final of which the winner was Catherine I and her lover Alexander Menshikov.

The role of Peter I was played by Nikolai Karachentsov ("The Adventures of Electronics"), the role of Alexander Menshikov went to Sergei Shakurov ("Grandfather 005"), and the image of Catherine I was embodied by Natalia Egorova ("Vanyukhin's Children").

"Secrets of palace coups": actors and roles of the episode "Testament of the Empress"

"Testament of the Empress" takes the viewer at a time when the end of the reign of Empress Catherine I is nearing. Almost all the nobility opposed her adviser and lover Alexander Menshikov. In the boudoir of the Empress, another conspiracy is brewing, which may end with another coup. Fortunately, Menshikov is warned in time about the threat looming over him. This second page of history is devoted to the second episode of the film "Secrets of palace coups".

Actors Sergei Shakurov and Natalia Egorova are again playing Alexander Menshikova and Catherine I. New characters appear in the frame: actress Ekaterina Nikitina ("Margosha") plays the young Elizaveta Petrovna (future empress); Irina Lachina ("Gift of fate") appears in the image of Anna Petrovna - sister of Elizabeth; And Dmitry Verkeenko (Smersh Legend for the traitor) plays the young Peter II.

The film "I am the Emperor"

In the film "Secrets of palace coups. I am the emperor "the actors cover the period when Catherine I dies and Pyotr Alekseevich's grandson becomes the de facto heir to the throne. Regent with him is still the same influential Prince Menshikov, who seeks to isolate the young emperor from the rest of the noble community. However, some nobles do not intend to put up with this, and first of all it concerns the Dolgoruky family.

In the new part of "The Secrets of Palace Revolutions" the viewer sees already well-known actors Sergei Shakurov, Dmitry Verkeenko and Ekaterina Nikitin as Elizabeth. Also, the characters of Dmitry Kharatyan (Ivan Dolgoruky), Vladimir Ilyin (Andrey Osterman) and Alexei Zharkov (Alexei Dolgoruky) come to the forefront. Soon Menshikov is under arrest and sent to spend his days in Siberia.

In the episode "The Fall of Goliath" the same familiar faces of Russian artists flashed by, the ranks of which were replenished by Alexander Peskov ("Grach"), Fyodor Dobronravov ("Matchmakers"), Vladimir Privalov ("Code of Disgrace") and Natalya Fateeva (" Impossible ").

Other film series

In the episode "The Second Bride of the Emperor" the director tells how the noble family of Dolgoruky tried to marry young Peter the Second on a representative of his kind - Catherine.

In the sixth film, "The Death of a Young Emperor," their plans crumble, as Peter the Second did not live to see his wedding, and died of black pox.

In the seventh film, Anna Ioannovna ascends to the throne, during the reign of which the country's administrative apparatus was simply exhausted from the dominance of the Germans.

In the eighth film "The Hunt for a Princess," Anna Ioannovna publishes a unique document stating that the future emperor will be the unborn child of Princess Anna Leopoldovna. For this reason, Anna's hand and heart begin a fierce struggle among the German nobles.

The ninth film has not yet appeared on the screens, most likely, Druzhinin will follow him after the premiere of the painting "The Midsquerade of 1787".
