From the published official results of the census, it becomes clear that the population of China is growing, but in the last 10 years its growth rate has halved.

China is still the most populous country in the world, now its population is 1.34 billion people. However, in the last decade, the number of pensioners has risen and the number of children has declined sharply. This ratio was obtained as a result of the fact that China's policy in the field of demography was aimed at reducing the growth rate of the country's population. For thirty years of the state program, there were even cases when forced sterilization and forced abortions were used.

These draconian measures of the state led to the fact that the population of China began to grow less, the threat of overpopulation began to recede, but the problem of aging came to the fore. The same census revealed that the percentage of people in 2000 over the age of 60 was 10.4% of the population, and now has reached 13.3%. With such operating processes, the percentage of the able-bodied population will rapidly decline in the future, which means that the advantage of possessing cheap labor that has provided China with rapid economic growth will come to naught.

There is another factor that has a negative impact on the population of China - traditionally in Chinese families give preference to boys, so now in the country for every hundred women there are 120 men. Such a bias is already capable of leading to the fact that the number of Chinese bachelors, deprived of any hope of starting their own family, will reach the level of 24 million people by 2020. The urban population of China so far reaches only 36.22% of the total population of the country. There is still a low level of urbanization and an excess of labor in the countryside. At the end of the 20th century, the percentage of the urban population in the country averaged 0.91% per year. It is assumed that the same pace will continue at the beginning of this century.

The cities of China are expanding and strengthening, skyrocketing skyscrapers of Shanghai and many other cities with million inhabitants are skyrocketing. According to forecasts, by 2030 the population of Chinese cities should increase to 884 million people. This is already 59.1% of the country's population and will then reach the global level. In the previous generation of Chinese, 8 out of 10 couples were married to the approval and choice of their parents or trade unions. However, today young Chinese, especially those living in cities, get their first sexual experience quite early. They live in a civil marriage without embarrassment and can change not one partner before registering a relationship. Moreover, extramarital affairs have already become so widespread that at the state level the issue of legalization of their illegality is being seriously discussed.
