The island of wildlife was laid in 1972 on the island of Truhanov, it became part of the Dnipropetrovsk park. A little later the complex included the island of "Muromets" and the total area of this protected corner was almost 780 hectares. The vast expanses that the Kievites loved so much, were given the symbolic name of "Friendship Park of Peoples". Kiev for many centuries differed from other cities by the grandeur and uniqueness of different structures. For many years this complex has been attracted by its size and unique landscapes. A bit of history

The natural complex was founded in 1894, then it bore the name of the commandant Anosov. It was this man who collected money for its construction. But the fate of the park is quite complex - it lasted for a short time 5 years and fell into decay, was abandoned. The Kievans arranged concerts here, then they broke the cemetery, but nature made its own adjustments. A powerful landslide destroyed this complex. But already in 1957 on this place the memorial of Eternal Glory was opened - on May 9 thousands of people flock here to honor the memory of the fallen heroes. You can visit the "Holodomor" museum, where you will see the long-suffering history of Stalin's times.

In this park, one of the most successful observation platforms in Kiev is located: store your powerful binoculars and you will have a stunning view of the left bank of the city.

Victory Park

In the distant 1965 this park was born, but in 2004 it has undergone many changes, and now your view opens with a beautiful picture that amazes with its grandeur and beauty. But "Feofaniya" is not only a park for rest, here once was laid a majestic temple, which was completely destroyed in the Great Patriotic War. But in our time it is actively recovering, attracting not only believers, but also numerous tourists.

The park received the status of a monument in 1972, and in 1992 it was declared a reserve.

Park of Partisan Glory

Another monument of the greatness of the city can be called Park of Partisan Glory. The history of its creation is very interesting: it is located near the university, and when this institution was visited by the Emperor of Brazil Don Pedro, he was horrified that near the main entrance of the institution there flaunts such an unsightly wasteland on which cows graze. And so there was this square, which was laid back in 1890.

Famous gardener Karl Christian very skilfully approached the arrangement of space. He was able to create a park that blended harmoniously with the botanical garden and emphasized the greatness of the university. Two alleys merged into a duet in the center of the park, and in 1896 a monument to Nikolay the First was erected here. The walkways were decorated with sculptures made of white stone, they pleased the eye with their purity and grace. But in 1920 the Soviet government considered them a hotbed of vulgarity and destroyed.

And only in 1939 a monument to the great writer Taras Shevchenko was erected here.

The main attraction is the unique fountain in the form of the Black Sea. The park has become a favorite place for chess players-amators, here the real tournaments are unfolding.
