The Millennium Park of Kazan is built to a significant date

Park "Millennium" was built to the significant date - the millennium of the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan. It was opened in 2002 year.

Millennium Park (Kazan)

The address of this favorite place among the city dwellers is Spartakovskaya Street, building 1. Children and adults come here. The Millennium Park of Kazan is located on the territory bordering the streets of Aidimov, Ostrovsky, Salimzhanov, and from the north - by the shore of Lake Kaban. From the west to the complex adjoins the building of "Tatenergo".

The construction of a huge complex of five and a half hectares was completed in the shortest possible time. Old buildings were demolished, and in their place were planted a huge number of limes, birches, oaks, mountain ash, and pines. The finishing touches were carried out even on the day of its opening.

Almost immediately, the park "Millennium" fell in love with the townspeople. In warm weather, companies of students are conveniently located on its lawns, preparing for examinations, parents and children, elderly people walk along the alleys. In winter, a Christmas tree is set up here, and festive lights and garlands are hung on the trees. The Millennium Park of Kazan is completely pedestrian. All its tracks are covered with paving stones.

History of creation

Once in this place, the streets intersected the streets of Perepechno-Georgievskaya (present Aidinova) and Uzenka (Ostrovsky). The first connected Georgievskaya square with Myasnitskaya right near the shore of the Nizhniy Kaban lake. Often the water level rose and the whole area flooded.

Until the beginning of this century, there was a private one-storey building directly on the site of the complex, however, by 2005 it had been demolished, and landscaping was carried out in a vacant lot and a Millennium Park was built in a very short time in just a few months.

At its opening, the heads of many states were invited, who planted blue Christmas trees on the main avenue.

Description

The territory was decided to be covered with a forged fence, in the patterns of which national motifs are looked through. In total there are eight gates, the main ones of which are decorated with figures of zilantes - snakes with wings, which, according to mythology, are symbols of Kazan.

Alleys stretching from all the gates of the park, converge at its center, forming a crossroads. This idea is very symbolic, since the capital of Tatarstan is located at the intersection of two parts of the world - Europe and Asia.

At the crossroads on the raised platform there is a fountain made in the form of a cauldron. In addition to it, you can see the monument to the famous Bulgarian poet Kul Gali, who wrote the poem "The Tale of Yusuf." It is set in the middle of the alley, which leads to the south-east gate. An outstanding representative of medieval literature of the Volga-Bulgarian period perished in the era of the Mongol invasion in the thirteenth century. The authors of the monument are Balashov, Minulin and Nurgaleeva. The opening of the monument was timed to the date of the opening of the complex - by August 2005.

The Millennium Park of Kazan is divided into several functional zones. In addition to the Central, called "Crossroads" and symbolizing the role of the capital of Tatarstan as a meeting place for the East and West, four more are envisaged. Periodically, holidays are held on the main square in the Millenium. According to the authors, in the future the Kazan Millennium Park will consist of several gardens, which were given original names: "Origin", "Maydan", "East", "Garden of Sorrows" and "Garden of Love".

Silvers and fountain

Kazan is a city with many attractions. This is an ancient, beautiful city. And from time to time, they include the Millennium Park. Kazan has been for many years, but it is precisely this complex that is destined to symbolize the long path of the city's development. Therefore, the fountain and serpent-zilanthas, figuring in the legends about its foundation and supporting the Kazan, became the place where the newlyweds come on the day of the wedding. It is here that they throw coins for happiness. The width of the fountain is thirty-six meters. Eight zilans are installed along the perimeter. At the time of construction of the park, the cost of each sculpture was about three hundred thousand rubles.

There is a legend that explains both the name of the capital of Tatarstan and the choice of a place for its foundation. According to her, the Bulgars, who chose a place to build the future city, the sorcerers ordered to build a settlement exactly where the boiler with water, which was dug into the ground, would boil without fire. After a long search and wanderings, such a unique site was discovered near Lake Kaban. Hence the name of the city - Kazan. It is this old legend and symbolizes the fountain "Kazan", installed in the center of the park "Millennium".

It is interesting

This is not only on weekends, but also on weekdays come the noisy wedding processions. Literally from the first months of the park's appearance on the map of the city an interesting tradition was established, according to which the newlyweds throw coins into the fountain-boiler, while making their wishes.

It must be said that the figures of the Zilans are periodically attacked by vandals. There was even a case when several sculptures were destroyed, which, however, were immediately restored.
