The Life of Jesus Christ

In the history of mankind there are many outstanding personalities whose actions have caused events of a global scale. Some of them - Julius Caesar, Alexander of Macedon, Napoleon, Joseph Stalin, Jesus Christ ... The last name and in our days remains the subject for heated debate. Some consider him an impostor, others - an outstanding personality, and some see in him the personality of a divine nature or even God himself. So, what kind of person was this? And did he exist at all as a real historical person?

First, let's look at how the story of Jesus Christ is interpreted in the Bible itself, as this is the main source from which you can get the information you need. So, he is a direct descendant of King David, once the monarch of Israel. Tyrant of Judah Herod, having learned from certain reliable sources about the birth of a man who, according to ancient prophecy, is destined to become the king of Israel, decides to kill Jesus to preserve his power and power of his descendants. To do this, orders are given to kill all the newborns in the town where Christ was to be born. But his parents learn about the impending catastrophe and run away from the country. Return to their homeland after the death of Herod. Growing up, Jesus learns his father's craft, becomes a good carpenter and earns his living. He grew very capable, quickly absorbed knowledge, was interested in the religion of his people and already at the age of 12, during his family's arrival in Jerusalem, he held discussions with representatives of the clergy.

The life of Jesus Christ has become very rich since the moment he was baptized by popular preacher John the Baptist. From this moment begins his missionary and educational activities. He finds his first twelve disciples, who become his main followers, he transfers some of his abilities. He performs many miracles, heals the sick and even revives the dead. Preaches a new doctrine, the number of his followers is growing rapidly. Realizing that his activities are a threat to their authority, religious leaders are plotting against him. The protege of the Roman emperor in Judea, which was then part of the Roman Empire, Pontius Pilate tries to justify this man, but the Jewish clergy exert strong pressure on him. Then, yielding to blackmail and wanting to prevent a possible riot, he gives consent to the execution of the Messiah. Jesus, tortured by torture, is crucified on the cross (or, according to some other data, on an ordinary pillar without a crossbar). His body lay in the tomb for three days, and then disappeared. According to the Bible, the life of Jesus Christ was given for the atonement of human sins. After his death, he appeared several times to his students.

So, we have very briefly reviewed the life of Jesus Christ on the basis of biblical sources. Now it is worth mentioning about possible evidence of the reality of the existence of the Messiah, indirect and direct. The oldest papyrus fragment with the text from the New Testament dates from around 125-150. ad. Also, the "Qumran scrolls" with the evangelical text were found. This archaeological find is already sweeping aside the speculation about the late writing of the New Testament. The method of execution of Christ is historically reliable, which is confirmed by the finds of the remains of those executed. Pontius Pilate, who was forced to consent to the murder of the Redeemer, is not a mythical character, but a real person. His name remained on the wall of the Roman theater, discovered during excavations in Caesarea. He was named prefect (and not procurator, as his successors) - it is this post that is mentioned in the Gospels of the Apostles. In the "Judean Antiquities" of Josephus, you can find a passage in which Christ is described as "a wise man leading a virtuous life," and also partially confirms what was written in the Gospel. Elsewhere in the same work, there is a description of the execution of Jacob, a relative of Jesus. In addition, in the writings of authoritative Roman scholars - Suetonius, Pliny and Tacitus - this man is also mentioned, along with a description of the activities of his first followers and persecutions directed against them by the Roman emperors.

So, the biography of Jesus Christ finds partial confirmation in some historical sources. His teaching is based on obedience to God and love for people. To this day, many tens of millions of people consider the life of Jesus Christ to be a role model.
