According to their calendar, November 1 began the winter, which in cold countries was associated with death. It was believed that on New Year's Eve the border between our and the other world opens, and the shadows of deceased people return to Earth to complete their affairs.

In order not to become the prey of the dead, people dressed in scary costumes. It could be costumes of wild animals, ghosts, even plants. It was believed that the more frightening the image for Halloween, the less likely to encounter a dead person.

In order not to miss the evil spirit in their house, they offered a treat on the doorstep, hoping that well-fed spirits and ghosts would not seek a meeting with his masters.

By morning the dead had to return to their world. So that they do not lose the way, the Celts made special lanterns from pumpkins that illuminated the road to the other world.

Over time, the old rite was transformed into a merry holiday, but the question of who to dress up for Halloween, remained. Today it is especially relevant, because many kindergartens, schools with English bias, night clubs hold events dedicated to the "All Saints Day".

How to make a costume for Halloween? There are two ways. The first is expensive and uninteresting. You can go to a specialized store, buy a ready-made suit. You will only have to decide what kind of Halloween image you want to create, pay money. Sellers will pick up any suit: from the sexual police to the terrible "Rattlesome Willow" from the movie "Harry Potter".

The second way is more economical and fascinating. The image for Halloween can be created from improvised means.

In general, all the costumes for this holiday can be divided into categories.

The first is the images of famous personalities. For example, in order to become Elvis Presley, it's enough to lay your hair in a certain way, fix the overhead sideburns, put on a bright (maybe golden) jacket embroidered with bright sequins.

The second category of costumes is evil. Vampires, zombies, Baba Yaga, Kikimora, Frankenstein - the more awful the image for Halloween, the greater success he enjoys. Turn into a zombie is easy. It's enough to tear your clothes, paint your face worse. But such suits are not very popular today - they do not have erotic overtones. But the sexy Baba Yaga will be quite in demand and can count on one of the prizes, which in nightclubs celebrate the best costumes.

Such an image for Halloween is created simply. First, we apply makeup brighter in the style of "a-la 80's". Lips can be made not red, but, for example, black or dark green. We beat the hair, turning them into a kind of unkempt strands, we tie the kerchief as the "real" Baba Yaga wears. For a suit, a short, sumptuous skirt is suitable: a "torn" one, tattered. The same blouse. Well, if the holes on it slightly open those parts of the body that awaken the fantasy of the opposite sex. On the feet we put on the same "torn" pantyhose and any shoes that imitate bast shoes or felt boots.

Probably, the images of the following heroes can be referred to this category: Thumbelina, Eastern Princess, Snow Queen, Piratka, Vampire, Evil or Good Wizard, etc. In order to create an image for Halloween, it is enough to take only the most characteristic, recognizable details of the image. For example, for Harry Potter - glasses, and for the Sorcerer - a golden cap and a magic wand.

The third category of costumes is non-living objects. Look great suits traditional pumpkins, trees, etc. Doing them is also easy.

Halloween is a fun holiday. The main thing in it is not the amount of money spent on a suit, but the originality of the created image.
