The fuel consumption of GAZ-66 is 100 km. Specifications of GAZ-66

At the moment, there are a few off-road vehicles in the market. The most massive such a biaxial Soviet car is the GAZ-66. He gained high popularity both in the army and in the economy. Further, the history and features, technical parameters and performance characteristics, including the GAZ-66 fuel consumption per 100 km, are considered.

History

This car was developed as a successor to the GAZ-63. In 1964, began its mass production. During the production period, the car underwent three major upgrades - in 1968 (66-01), 1985 (66-11) and 1991 (66-16) and a few small ones. Since 1968, it has been equipped with a centralized system for changing the pressure in the tires, and in 1981 replaced the lighting equipment. During the modernization of 1985, the GAZ-66 engine was renewed. The 1993 version received a different engine, improved brakes, reinforced tires and an updated platform. In 1995, they completed mass production, replacing the car model 3308, and in 1999 the release was completely finished.

Cabin

The machine is equipped with a two-seater metal cabin, distinguished by its cramped and uncomfortable layout. So, between the seats is the engine cover, because of what the gearshift lever is shifted to the right and back. At the same time the machine is equipped with a canvas hammock, suspended on hooks.

Since the cabin is installed directly above the engine, to access it, it leans forward on the hinges. Such an arrangement ensured uniform distribution of the mass along the axes. This allowed him to use it for landing. However, the location of the cab above the wheels significantly increases the danger to the crew when undermining the mine. In view of this, in the army, the car was replaced with a hood GAZ-3308.

The landing version (66B) features a folding roof, a folding frame of the windshield and a steering column of a telescopic design.

Platform

The car is equipped with two fuel tanks for 105 liters (66-41 - one).

The standard platform is represented by a metal body with lattice sides (rear - hinged). Has fasteners for awning on 5 arcs. Its overall dimensions are 3,313 m in length, 2.05 m in width, 0.34 m in height.

Since 1991, the machine has received a platform without wheelbases with a carrying capacity of 2.3 tons, unified in the construction with a body 3309.

The economic version 66-21 is equipped with a GAZ-53 wooden body, 3.49 m long, 2.17 m wide, 0.51 m high and 3.5 t lifting capacity.

In addition, the GAZ-66 dump truck (GAZ-SAZ-3511) was manufactured on the chassis of the 66-31 chassis, and the shift buses on the chassis 66-96.

GAZ-SAZ-3511 has a platform in the size of 3,516 m in length, 2,28 m in width, 0,62 m (1,25 m with extensions) in height with lateral and rear flap sides. Its area is 8 m 2 , the volume is 5 m 3 (with extensions - 10 m 3 ). The carrying capacity is 3.1 tons (2.85 with extensions). ) и в стороны (45 °) . The body tilts back (50 ° ) and sideways (45 °) . The hitch is missing.

The overall dimensions of the standard modification are 5.655 m in length, 2.342 m in width, 2.44 m in height. The wheelbase is 3.3 m, the front track is 1.8 m, the rear track is 1.75 m, the ground clearance is 315 mm. The curb weight is 3.47 tons (ZMZ-513) or 4.09 tons (GAZ-5441), the full weight is 5.77 tons (ZMZ-66-06) or 6.81 tons (GAZ-5441).

GAZ-SAZ-3511 is more than GAZ-66. The dump truck has a length of 6,235 m, a width of 2,461 m and a height of 2,456 m. The curb weight is 4.2 tons, the total weight is 7.25 tons.

Engine

The car was equipped with two gasoline engines and two diesel engines.

ZMZ-66-06. Initially, this gasoline 8-cylinder GAZ-66 engine of V-shaped volume of 4.25 liters developed 115 liters. from. At 3200 rpm and 284 Nm at 2000-2500 rpm. After the modernization of 1985 (66-11), the capacity increased to 120 liters. from.

ZMZ-513.10. This engine is the same layout and volume, developing 125 liters. from. At 3200-3400 rpm and 294 Nm at 2000-2500 rpm. They were equipped with machines after 1991 (66-16).

GAZ-544. Diesel 4-cylinder engine volume of 4.15 liters, developing 85 liters. from. And 235 Nm at 1600 rpm. Used on the version 66-41.

GAZ-5441. The same engine, equipped with a turbine. Its power is 116 liters. from. At 2600 rpm, the torque is 382 Nm at 1600-1800 rpm. This motor was installed on version 66-40.

Transmission

The car is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission (5-speed in version 66-40) with single-disk, dry clutch. The drive is a complete plug-in (except the rear-wheel drive GAZ-SAZ-3511) on the basis of a 2-speed distribution box. Both bridges of hypoid construction have self-locking cam differentials. At the same time there is no interaxle differential .

Chassis

Both car suspension - on semi-elliptical, longitudinal springs with telescopic, hydraulic shock absorbers of double-sided action. And on the rear axle the springs are single. Steering control structure screw-ball nut has a hydraulic booster.

Brake system - separate hydraulic with drum mechanisms (with two pads on the front wheels) and a vacuum amplifier. During the last modernization of 1991, the car received modified brakes.

The machine has 18-inch wheels. Since 1968, it has been equipped with a centralized tire pressure change system. For this purpose, a compressor with a drive from the engine and wheel disks of a special design was installed. In the 1991 update, the tires were strengthened.

GAZ-66-21, 66-41, GAZ-SAZ-35-11 have two-wheel rear wheels. The last two versions do not have a tire pressure change system.

Modifications

During the production, many versions of GAZ-66 were developed. The technical characteristics of some of them are significantly different from the baseline.

On the basis of the first machines (before 1968) 66-1, modifications 66A (with a winch), 66E (with shielded electrical equipment), 66D (chassis with a power take-off) were created. Also there was a military GAZ-66, namely the amphibious version (66B).

Based on the updated in 1968, the car created two similar versions, which received the changed designations: 66-02 instead of 66B and 66-03 instead of 66E. In addition to them, a version with combined equipment (with shielded electrical equipment and winch) appeared (66-05) and a chassis with shielded electrical equipment (66-04).

With the next update in 1985, left three previous modifications, but again changed their designations: 66-02 at 66-12, 66-05 at 66-15 and 66-04 at 66-14. These versions were released until 1996.

In 1991, the newly modernized GAZ-66-16 appeared again.

In 1993, released an economic version of 66-21.

Also chassis for dump trucks (66-31) and shift buses (66-96), northern version (66-92) were developed.

Diesel modifications were produced: 66-41 and 66-40.

In addition to these, there were experimental, export and specialized versions. In addition, the chassis of this car produced buses.

Performance

Many functional parameters, such as the GAZ-66 fuel consumption per 100 km, are determined by the engine. The maximum speed in any case is 90 km / h (80 km / h with the trailer).

The first GAZ-66 engine provides acceleration to 60 km / h in 30 seconds. At this speed, he spends 20-24 liters of gasoline. At the same time, the GAZ-66 fuel consumption per 100 km under real operating conditions is 27 liters. On the off-road it can reach more than 30 liters per 100 km.

The GAZ-66 fuel consumption per 100 km when equipped with a turbodiesel is 15 liters at 60 km / h, the carrying capacity is 2.3 tons.

The turning radius is 10 m, the stopping distance from 50 km / h is 25 m (26.5 m with the trailer), the coastline with the same speed is 500 m.

Most modifications can tow a trailer up to 2 tons.

и въезда в 35 °, одинаковым колеям, гипоидным мостам и кулачковым дифференциалам, относительно низкому центру тяжести и запасу мощности ГАЗ-66. The car is characterized by high cross-country traffic due to the clearance of 315 mm, the corners of the exit to 32 ° and the entrance to 35 °, the same ruts, hypoid bridges and cam differentials, relatively low center of gravity and GAZ-66 power reserve. позволяют преодолевать подъемы до 37 ° на жестком грунте, до 22 ° на сыпучем (20 ° с прицепом) и форсировать броды глубиной до 1 м. Technical characteristics allow you to climb up to 37 ° on hard ground, up to 22 ° on loose (20 ° with a trailer) and to force fords up to 1 m deep.
