The drug 'Timalin'. Instructions for use

The drug "Timalin" (injections), according to some evidence, was discovered in 1971. It is derived from biological material - the animal thymus gland, which is known as the "thymus".

The medicine "Timalin" promotes the restoration of immunological reactivity. By acting on the human fork , the drug activates its functions. Thus, the body's reactions to pathological (pathogenic) stimuli are stimulated, the ratio and quantity of B- and T-lymphocytes (the blood constituents responsible for the formation of tissue and cellular defense forces in the body) and their subpopulations are normalized. Describing the mechanism of action of the drug "Timalin", the instruction for use indicates the ability of the agent to enhance phagocytosis (active capture by phagocytes (blood cells) of pathological microorganisms), stimulate regenerative processes, improve the function of the hematopoiesis system (in case of its oppression), and stabilize cellular metabolism metabolism).

The drug is prescribed for adults and children as an immunomodulating and biostimulating drug.

Indications include diseases and conditions complicated by a decrease in immunity, including those associated with the development of chronic and acute pathologies in soft tissues and bones of purulent-inflammatory nature, bacterial and viral infections. The preparation "Timalin" recommends using instructions for violations of regenerative processes (fractures, burns, frostbite, trophic ulcers, slowly healing lesions of the skin, necrosis after irradiation, and also with radiation tissue necrosis). The medicine is prescribed for ulcers in the duodenum and stomach, bronchial asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, obliterating endarteritis, multiple sclerosis. The drug is shown for oncological patients to relieve conditions complicated by weakened functioning (hypofunction) of the thymus gland, accompanied by oppression of hematopoiesis and immunity against chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

The "Timalin" medication is recommended for use in the prevention of complications (including infectious complications) in the post-operative, post-traumatic period, when antibiotics are administered in large dosages, and also when chemotherapy or radiation is given.

The drug is available in the form of a lyophilized (powder-dried) powder for the preparation of a solution for injection.

Before the introduction, the contents of the vial are mixed with one or two milliliters of isotonic sodium chloride solution. The drug "Timalin" is intended for intramuscular injections. The administration is carried out daily.

The dosage of the medicine "Timalin" recommends the use of the following: adults from five to twenty milligrams (from thirty to one hundred milligrams per course of therapy), children from seven to fourteen years - 3-5 mg, from four to six years - 2 -3 mg, from one to three years - 1-2 mg, up to a year - 1 mg. Duration of treatment - from three to ten days.

For prevention, the drug is administered intramuscularly daily for 5-10 milligrams of adults and 1-5 milligrams of children for three to five days.

It should be noted that the drug "Timalin" is not a simple fortifying agent. In some situations, the use of an immunomodulator is inexpedient, instead of it one can support the immune system with vitamins or a balanced diet. In other cases, the drug may simply be irreplaceable. However, the use of the drug "Timalin" should be recommended by a specialist.
