The crow of the gray is the most intelligent representative of the world of birds

The crow is gray ... It is rarely answered well, it is usually scolded. Even if they remember her with a word kind, then somehow casually, going straight to the list of atrocities. And the list of this devil and the truth is great.

This bird, for example, very much "loves" other people's nests and the nestlings in them. "Thanks to" raids crows gray, the number of medium-sized bird brotherhood is periodically reduced. And numerous morning raids on urban containers with garbage add work wipers. Do not lose sight of these birds and balconies, on which city residents sometimes leave something edible. And in the ability to "mark" a new coat with a crow is not comparable to any other bird. The evening "concert", arranged by a cloud of birds almost covering the sky before going to bed, is clearly not for the nervous.

Ornithologists of the last century would have been surprised by the endless list of atrocities of these pranksters, for formerly crows settled far from cities, in floodplains of rivers and mainly in pairs, and not hundreds, as now. "Antisocial antics" on their part began only thanks to the "conqueror" of nature - a man who began to systematically destroy the "harmful" predatory birds, which the crows were so afraid of. In the 50 years of the last century, "free riflemen" were assigned even monetary bonuses and privileges for the killing of birds of prey, allegedly destroying small and useful feathered game. Did they then think of the equilibrium established by nature itself?

Deprived of their natural enemies, the raven gray began to feel very free and already organized the fishery itself - fed both herself and the young, daily ravaging dozens of foreign nests. The population of crows grew rapidly, with "proportional rapidity" decreased "food".

And the crow, following the example of a peasant in pre-revolutionary Russia, moved to a lean year in the city, where she found both "dairy shores" and "jelly rivers". Dumbing on the stringies, then tied by the townspeople under his own window (not everyone could afford a refrigerator), insolent to an extreme degree, the bird devastated the "food baskets." And about the scraps, which are not disdained not only wild dogs and basement cats, but also the same crows, you can not even spread. In general, the number of once-in-a-lifetime foresters has grown rapidly in cities.

Again, the "nature conqueror" took up his gun, driven by the authorities' promise to get a license for the crow's feet (preferential, of course) for shooting other game ...

But the crows only contemptuously croaked: "Not at those people, they attacked! We are not hawks, falcons, we are smarter! ". And this was the purest truth. A striking mental ability led the crows to the city, the same ability allowed them to escape from the rifles of guns. The crow instantly realized that a person is able not only to feed, but also to present nasty things.

Observance of safety precautions requires a person to learn from a crow. Pay attention: a standing human raven does not care and can walk around a couple of meters away, but if the bipedal suddenly decides to look at her, she will fly off immediately for 10 meters. Attempting to take a stone will immediately increase the distance by 20 meters. And the gun that appears will "wipe off" A crow from the field of view.

The number of crows was reduced not by guns, but jumped prices for products and brooms of yard keepers. Now the delicacies are no longer thrown away in such quantity, and the wipers remove not only the middle of the sidewalk, but all the streets.

Crow - a bird is not just smart, but also able to learn, and it learns quickly. It is worth one guess that soaked in a puddle biscuit is more convenient, knowledge immediately spread throughout the numerous crow crow. If one gray cheat comes up with the idea of bending open the "tongue" of cans with the remains of canned food, the rest will start to regale on occasion as well.

Moreover, the behavior of these amazing birds is always adequate to the emerging situation. For cats, for example, they are indifferent, since it is very difficult to peck them, but the sick and weakened lonely kitten will immediately become the object of crow's attention.

Biologist Manteyfel recalled in one of the articles about how a flock of sparrows, rejoicing a couple over the pool with pelicans, decided to take a dip in the warm water. Their feathers were wet and, since it was winter, they began to freeze. Indifferent before this, crows turned into active pursuers. A flock of sparrows was caught and eaten in a quarter of an hour.

The same collectivism and coherence of actions is observed when the crows are straightened out with dangerous for them more powerful predatory birds. Avoiding a meeting with the latter one-on-one, the pack pecks the predator in a couple of minutes.

Moreover, the crow is gray - a lover of entertainment and does not tolerate boredom. And she also has fun in the team. And their entertainment, of course, agreed.

One of the students of the biophak told, for example, how two crows, pretending that they want to get into a dog's bowl, waited for the dog to rush at them. At a time when the dog was unfolding for attack, another crow took a decent shred of wool from the back of the unfortunate dog. Entertainment continued until the dog, offended and angry, did not get out of the box.

Another time, the gray bandits attacked a dog peacefully gnawing a bone. While the two of them were distracting attention, the third quickly stole this bone. Such actions clearly did not pursue any practical goal, because the bone was immediately discarded, and the crows flew away, rather croaking.

Now most ornithologists confirm: the crow is gray, not distinguished either by beauty, neither in size, nor in voice, has no equal in mind either among the birds or among the beasts. With her on wit, only dolphins and anthropoid apes can compete ...
