The Apennine Peninsula

The Apennine peninsula is a famous peninsula in southern Europe, on which Italy is located, as well as the San Marino and the Vatican. This peninsula is also known as Italian. Its total area is 149 thousand square kilometers, width - up to 300 km. The peninsula is connected to Europe by the Padan Plain, which in the north is dissected by the Alps. It is washed by the Mediterranean, Tyrrhenian, Ionian and Adriatic seas. The relief is dominated by the Apennine years and the foothills. You can also find volcanic forms and old massifs. On the peninsula, earthquakes are frequent. The climate is characterized by a cool rainy winter and a hot summer.

If one day you are suddenly asked the question: "On what peninsula is Italy?", You can safely answer: "At the Apennines." It is about this country and rest in it that will be discussed in this article.
