Terrorist attack in Domodedovo: a chronicle of events, causes, consequences

International terrorism is recognized as one of the most serious threats to all of humanity. One of the most tragic events in Russia in recent years was a terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport. The sad news spread on the Internet through the Twitter service on January 24, 2011 at 16:38, which forced millions of people to cling to TV screens.

How did it all start?

January 24, 2011 is one of the most horrible days in the history of Russia. Around 16:32 Moscow time, there was a terrorist attack in Domodedovo. On this day, 37 peaceful citizens of Russia and foreign countries, including two people from Tajikistan and Austria, one resident of Germany, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Uzbekistan perished at the airport. 117 people from 13 countries suffered from the explosion.

The explosion was heard in the general waiting room, in the immediate vicinity of the cafe Asia.   • The second most popular reason for the respondents was corruption in the higher bodies of power. 23% of respondents believed that bribery, including in law enforcement, determined the terrorist attack in Domodedovo. In addition, 22% of Russians agreed in opinion that authorities can not avoid and prevent such suicide attacks.
  • Other polls showed that, according to public opinion, the blame for the terrorist attack on civilians lies on the shoulders of representatives of various levels of state power. With this agreed 3/4 of all respondents.

The explosive used at the airport Domodedovo

Mourning for the dead

Invaluable bitterness of human losses, which led to the terrorist attack of Domodedovo.
