Sunflower-Kanzashi: master class

Sunflower-kanzash is a very beautiful and simple flower. They can decorate any accessory, and make yourself very easy. For petals, you need a yellow satin ribbon with a width of 2.5 cm: cut it into 5 cm lengths. They are performed on the same principle as for an aster, and should be long and sharp. For the leaves, we take a ribbon of green color with a width of 2.5 cm. Foliage is an optional element, but it adds a contrast flower.

How to make a middle of a tape

For the middle you can use beads, beads or a simple rep strip. We make flower petals

Cut off the yellow tape 5 cm and fold the sides together, the front side out. Tweezers help keep the petal in place and reduce the risk of burning with a cigarette lighter. You can scorch the edges with a candle, a lighter or a soldering iron. Cut one edge of the tape diagonally and fix the edges on one side. Now form the opposite side of the petal, folding both edges into the middle, aligning in the center and fixing them in place, again singing the edge. We make about 35 such blanks.

The central part of the flower should be volumetric. We prepare the ribbon for the middle of the flower: we sing the edge, take the needle and thread in a tone, put the material in half, string the thread and pull it together. Mid-black can be done later, fixing it on the glue.

Another option: immediately fold the ribbon with a spiral and sew it into threads, turning the workpiece in your hands to make a volume part. We glue the felt blank and the core, placing it in the center.

Collect the flower

We begin assembling the sunflower-kanzash from the outer edge: we paste the petals close to each other. The first layer will need about 18 petals. Then make a second circle - for him you need about 14 petals. At the very end of the assembly, we paste a brown tape around the middle of the middle. It must close the edges of the petals. In addition, the center of the flower can be decorated with artificial insects, rhinestones or beads. Such a flower is perfectly complemented by a wreath-kanzash in Ukrainian style.

You can make a sunflower in another way. The petals will turn round, and the middle will consist of beads. We prepare the necessary materials:

• Satin ribbon of yellow color 5 cm wide and green color 2.5 cm wide;
• tweezers;
• A lighter;
• Beads of black color;
• scissors;
• Knife or spoon;
• A clean tissue napkin;
• Fishing line;
• Glue gun.

Flower manufacturing process:

• From a yellow tape we cut out 24 rectangles 6 cm long, dividing the green ribbon into 12 pieces of 6.5 cm long.
• We begin to form petals from a yellow ribbon: fold the rectangle in half with the wrong side inward and cut into two halves. To the edges of petals of sunflower-kanzash look more natural, cut off a narrow strip of tape from one edge.
• Cut first the right, and then the left upper edge diagonally: you should get a sharp petal.
• Now you need to round out the side corners. With the green ribbon we do the same. The only difference: triangles at the end are made more sharp and do not cut the side edges of the tape. This leaf will be at the very bottom, and it will not be practically visible.
• It remains to burn the blanks with a candle, without bending them. We do this to fix the edge so that it does not crumble. Clean sheets without soot can be obtained if you use the lower part of the candle flame.
• Now we need a knife or a spoon, depending on what will be more convenient to use. In addition, we prepare a clean material for cleaning the tool from soot. If there is a gas stove, the process will go faster - the knife will be less dirty.
• In work we use the blunt side of the knife: we heat it over fire and wipe it with a cloth. Then take the petal of the sunflower and apply two parallel strips on the fabric, starting from the wrong side. We turn, from the front side between the folds we make three lines. Get a fluted petal.
• Repeat these steps on all the other blanks from the yellow ribbon and green leaves.
• Now we form petals and leaves: the right corner of each workpiece is put to the left, and the left one to the right. We scorch the bottom of the candle.
• Pulling the ribbon, we begin to bend the petal outward, passing the edges over the fire. Green petals bend more strongly.

When all the blanks are ready, it only remains to assemble the flower. On the felt base with a diameter of 5 cm, we glue the first row of green petals in an amount of 12 pieces. Next, we begin to glue the yellow petals in a staggered manner, without moving to the center. In this row there are also 12 petals. In the third row, the yellow petals are glued staggered between the petals of the second row. For the design of the center, we will need beveled black beads and a fishing line with a diameter of 0.18 mm. Lesku add up to 4 additions, fix it on the wrong side and start sewing beads around. It remains to anchor the line, and the sunflower is ready! From it you can make an accessory for hair, a brooch or use to create a composition of ribbons.
