Spring has come: 12 stunning photos of cherry blossoms

Flowering cherry trees are so attractive that many people take a special holiday in the spring to admire this pacifying spectacle and participate in related festivals.

Sakura blossom, as a rule, begins in the middle of March and ends in mid-April. But nature is very unstable. Do you want to see this year, how cherry blossoms, but do not have such an opportunity because of strong employment or for other reasons? No problem! Just take a look at these photos that we have collected for you. In addition, the photos will be supplemented by interesting facts, which, perhaps, were not known to you before.

Washington, DC

Here one of the best festivals in the world is held, connected with cherry blossoms. This year it starts on March 15, and ends on April 16. This festival became a symbol of friendship between the United States and Japan, in which in 1912, 3000 cherry trees were brought to the States from the Land of the Rising Sun.

More than 1.5 million people annually become participants in this event. In 2017, the festival will be held for the 90th time.

The peak of cherry blossom (it is considered the moment when more than 70% of buds blossom) in Washington this year came early enough: March 14, according to the National Park Service of America.

Mount Fujiyama

Fuji is one of the best places in the world where you can go to watch cherry blossoms. To get the most vivid impressions from admiring the spring flowering of nature, go to the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi.

Japan? Or is it the Himalayas?

While the vast majority of people connect sakura with Japan, in fact, it comes from the Himalayas. At least that's what scientists think. And yet in Japan sakura appeared very long ago, even in prehistoric times.

In the Land of the Rising Sun, a cherry blossom has long been an object of admiration. The tradition of khans (in fact, the so-called love of flowers in Japanese) has its roots in the distant past.

Kyoto

In Kyoto, there is a truly wonderful tradition of making picnics under flowering cherry trees. Sakura flowers in Japan are a symbol not only of the beginning of spring, they also remind us of how fragile life is. Traditional picnics, therefore, are held in order to show people how important it is to live a full life.

As soon as the sun sets, in Kyoto cherry trees light red lanterns, and this is just an incredible sight.

The world capital of cherry blossoms

Interestingly, neither Kyoto nor the city of Washington is the world capital of cherry blossom, despite all festivals and traditions. Pay attention to another iconic city - Macon. He is in the USA, in the state of Georgia.

In Macon you can admire the flowering of more than 300,000 cherry trees. Arriving in this city in the spring, you will be transferred to the real pink fairy tale. There is also an International Festival dedicated to cherry blossom.

You can admire, however, not only pink flowers, but also white, after all there are more than 600 different varieties of cherry trees.

But remember: if you want to catch the peak flowering of these trees and visit one of these incredibly beautiful places, you need to carefully plan your time. Sakura blossoms exactly one week.
