Social design

Social design is a method of public education of schoolchildren and students. Its main didactic meaning is the creation of conditions in which students can find themselves living in a society. Technology of social design allows pupils to go through the main stages of socialization, to learn how to interact in society with adults. It helps them to form their worldview, their vision.

Social design is an activity that has social significance, produces an effect in society. Its final result for students should be the creation of something (not necessarily material), absolutely new for them and having practical application. This activity should be fully thought out, developed and implemented by the pupils themselves. In the course of its implementation, they interact with the culture of adults, their world, and through this contact their behavioral skills in society are formed.

Of course, social design is not the only activity of modern youth. It is intertwined with many other species and is impossible without interpersonal communication.

Social design is one way of expressing ideas on changing the world, the environment around by setting specific tasks, goals, actions. It also describes the resources that need to be drawn to implement the plans, and specifies the time frame for their implementation.

Changes that are proposed to be conducted in the immediate environment can be provided in the form of:

1) describing in words the necessary actions that need to be taken to effect changes;

2) calculations necessary for the implementation of plans;

3) graphs, diagrams, drawings, etc.

At the present stage, educational institutions implement the following types of social projects of their pupils:

- information (students work with data on any issue, analyze them, summarize, and then provide the entire audience);

- applied (application of the result of work on the project in practice);

- research (students must, while passing through the stages characteristic of this scientific study, explore some creative task, the solution of which is certainly unknown);

- game, role (pupils try on specific social roles in accordance with the content of the project and lose them);

- projects consisting of a set of several techniques (creative, search, etc.).

Social design, like any educational technology, pursues certain goals and performs its tasks. Its objectives are:

1) inclusion of students in the activity to solve a problem in practice by one's own efforts;

2) in attracting their attention to problems that are relevant in society.

The tasks facing social design:

1) formation of skills of competent behavior in society;

2) improving the skills and abilities useful in society (compiling necessary resources, planning future activities, preliminary analysis of desired results and possible outcomes) in practice;

3) strengthening the ability to work in a team.

In the project activity, it is very important to distribute responsibilities among team members. After all, it is clear that one person, while developing plans, conducting negotiations and polls, searching for sponsors, is not able to do all the work, the more qualitatively. For this, there is also a division of labor in the project activity, when each participant is given an occupation according to his abilities and the strength of his abilities.

Work on such a project is important for all students, as it helps them to feel their importance in the society, to recognize new opportunities, to improve their status in their educational institution.
