Smart clock - the right gadget or another toy for teenagers?

Technology is rushing ahead, ahead of time. It would seem, more recently, cuckoo clocks were considered the pinnacle of engineering thought. Manufacturers of modern gadgets are not limited to smartphones and tablets alone. The so-called smart watches are very popular. The watch market is filled with interesting new products designed to make the user's life better. "Hourly" direction of hi-tech flagships is developing rapidly. The leaders of the new market for today are Apple, Foxconn and Allerta.

So what is a smart watch? Gadgets that can seriously ease the life of its owner? Serious competitors who can move the market of mastodons such as Casio, Rado and Rolex watches? Or is it just another fashionable toy for Western teenagers? Let's understand.

Apple

As usual, the upcoming offspring of the Cupertino people can not do without a lot of rumors and "HYIP" around. That's the topic of possible smart-watch from Apple is pretty resonant. The Internet is already full of images of the upcoming iWatch model. And this despite the fact that no official data about the design of the camp "Yabloko" have not been received yet. In March 2013, the company confirmed that more than a hundred full-time engineers are working on the development of the prototype. It is expected that the clock will be able to make and receive incoming calls, locate and measure the pulse. It is rumored that smart watches from Apple should be released in 2014. However, the company did not announce the exact date.

BlackBerry

It is unclear why the Canadian company decided to outsource its own smart hours. Apparently, considering that the engineers of the Allerta center have great potential in this area. The released product was called InPulse and after its presentation ingloriously sank into oblivion, leaving behind nothing but a hole in the BlackBerry budget.

Allerta

However, experience with InPulse helped Allert to launch one of the most successful startups on Kickstarter, the smart Pebble watch. They are also the cheapest at the same time - only 99 dollars apiece. They are equipped with a 1.26-inch monochrome display such as "electronic paper", bluetooth 2.1 interface, four buttons and an acceleration sensor. Pebble is a multifunctional headset for Android devices. Through the "blue tooth" they are able to receive calls, messages, and download a graphical interface. It's clear that the full functionality of Pebble will be disclosed together with the applications coming out for them. For today, four color solutions are available: black, red and white. Later, the fourth option will be released, which will be determined by the vote of people who supported the project at Kickstarter.

Foxconn

In mid-summer 2013, the Taiwanese gadget maker introduced a prototype of its iPhone-headset clock. With their help, you can answer calls, receive messages on Facebook, measure your pulse and much more. It is possible that in the near future hours from Foxconn will be able to recognize the owner on a fingerprint. The company did not announce plans for serial production.

Despite the fact that the segment of smart watches is just beginning to develop, the potential, as they say, is obvious. Who knows, maybe in the near future we will be able to leave our smartphone at home, managing it only with a convenient bracelet.
