Seventeen (Korean group): composition, features of creativity, group history and interesting facts

Seventeen is a group of young artists who have become popular thanks to the Pledis Entertainment project. The list of stars of this agency for talent search includes the famous singer Son Dambi, the boy band NU'EST and the After-band gerl-band.

The representatives of the label announced the creation of a new team in 2012. The boy band, which originally planned seventeen participants, was going to present in 2013. The concept assumed a division into three subgroups, oriented to Japan, Korea and China.

Preparation for the debut

Biography of the band Seventeen began with a reality show. Watching the rehearsals of all the team members, the audience managed to choose their favorite performers. It was a cleverly thought-out move by Pledis Entertainment, because at the time of the debut in 2015, the band already had thousands of fans.

At the very beginning of the show it became known that not all seventeen young people will join the core of Seventeen. The group was to consist of thirteen people, who after five seasons of reality were chosen through a spectatorial vote.

Premiere

As we have already said, the label carefully thought out the debut of Seventeen. The Korean group first performed on May 27, 2015 as part of the MBC Show Champion, two days later a mini-album 17 CARAT and a music video Adore U were presented.

Due to the division into three subgroups, each artist was able to show his talents. The Performance team (Hoshi, Dino, Zhong and THE8) is responsible for the dance component of the show, there is still Vocal (Joshua, Synkwan, Jeonhan and Dickey) and Hip Hop (Mingyu, Vaughn, S.coups and Vernon).

S.coups and Vaughn

During the reality show, the audience gradually recognized the future artists of Seventeen. The Korean group, whose songs are known all over the world today, is by no means from novices. Leader Choi Singchol, or S.coups, took part in filming several TV shows and music videos.

It's no secret that Sinchol is the oldest participant (at the time of his debut he was 20 years old). For this reason, from the very beginning I received the nickname Daddy. He always seeks to organize other guys.

S.coups considers himself to be an example for imitation, tries to train more and look strong. In the piggy bank of the singer is a black belt in taekwondo. He loves to read and dreams of meeting a girl who cooks great.

In the Hip Hop subgroup, Chon Von, or simply Vona, also works as the main rapper of the band. 21-year-old artist seriously takes a great interest in poetry, as eloquently speak five completely written in verse notebooks. One of his works Vaughn dreams of performing during the band's performance.

Mingyu and Vernon

Vernon is the stage name of Choi Han Sol, who is one of the youngest artists on the team. He is fluent in Korean and English, because he was born in New York. When Vernon was five years old, his family moved to South Korea.

Among all participants of the boy band Khan Solya is considered a shy sweet-tooth. He collects headwear and is seriously interested in fashion. Artist dreams of meeting a girl with beautiful legs, learn to read thoughts and ten years to become a billionaire, which is quite realistic, speaking in Seventeen.

A group of hip-hop performers could not have been without Kim Mingyu, who was nicknamed Home Chistyulya and Master of Hairstyles. She loves to walk, sleep and eat, and still can repair any technique in the house or rehearsal room.

Another blonde in the Performance subgroup is Su Minhao, or The8. As we have already said, the project is aimed at several countries at once. For example, Minghao represents China. The artist is fond of martial arts, and on the stage he has no equal in the break-dance. Some fans of The8 reminds Chanel - the performer from the boy band EXO.

However, Su Minhao - not the only foreigner in the team. Wen Junhui is also from China. June perfectly plays the piano and is fond of Wushu. The dancer always has snacks with him.

Ven seriously studies acting skills - he has already demonstrated his talents during filming in the Chinese films Children's War and The Pye Dog.

Uji, Singhwan and Dokem

Composer and leader of vocalists - Li Zhihong. Day after day ready to work in the studio Uji. The artist is quite a difficult character. During reality, the audience noted an "evil" language and a slightly estranged expression, but for Scorpio this is quite normal. Uji never met with the girls, perfectly plays the guitar and piano. Dokem is considered the greatest joker in Seventeen.

A group of Korean, American food - about the loyal love of Bu Singgvan to the hamburgers knows every fan. The 18-year-old team member has the most nicknames and likes to make fun of others. Closest of all is talking with Han Sol.

Talent of Singhvan did not escape from the label's competitors - in JYP Entertainment he was offered a profitable contract, but was refused. Next to him, the young man wants to see an attractive companion with an easy temperament, which would be his best friend.

Johan and Joshua

The Vocal team has five members, but most of all the attention is attracted by the long-haired youth Yun Johnhan. The novice singer loves to play football, badminton and basketball. As you know, the participants of the boy band on the contract are prohibited novels, so they can only dream about the ideal girls. Johan wants to see next to him a kind and sweet beauty with an explosive character, younger than himself for eight years.

Reality show showed the development of relationships within Seventeen. The group united talented young people - some found like-minded people, and others - real friends. The first one with whom Yoon Johnkhan became acquainted and became close became Hon Jisu (Joshua).

Lead vocalist Joshua lived in the United States until he was 19, so he knows English and Korean fluently. By a fluke, the young man was at the festival, where he successfully passed a casting in the group.

In the traditional view, the pop group has no more than seven members, but Japanese and Korean labels consider otherwise.

Thirteen artists from Seventeen can hardly compete with the AKB48 team, which employs four members and 123 participants.

Three arguments support the Asian concept of group organization:

1. Equality. Each participant can show his talent and not be lost against the background of more successful colleagues.
2. Show. The choreography and vocals of a large group look more impressive than a single performance.
