• An important criterion for selection is age. Service in the US Army is possible for candidates aged from 17 to 42 years. Juvenile applicants must have a written (notarized) permission from their parents.
• A potential soldier must have a certificate of graduation.
• Many are interested in whether they take soldiers with a criminal record in the American army. In fact, there is no clear answer to this question, since each case is considered separately, and the decision of the commission can not be foreseen in advance.

In addition, every soldier must pass ASVAB (a special test, by means of which the level of knowledge and erudition is checked). This is a written assignment consisting of 200 questions. The passing score is not too high, but the number of correct answers determines in which particular division the candidate can serve.
