"Senad" for losing weight - to accept or not?

The preparation "Senade" is made on the basis of leaves of Senna (cassia) holly. This half-shrub belongs to the family of legumes and grows in Asia and Africa. The local population used senna for centuries to cleanse the intestines: tea was made from its leaves, which was drunk at night. The pods of the plant were used less often for this purpose. Currently, senna is cultivated in the countries of South-East and Central Asia, as well as in India and Pakistan.

Laxative "Senade" is available in the form of conventional chewing tablets and pastilles with different flavors. It contains substances that irritate the intestinal mucosa, thereby increasing its peristalsis and emptying. They usually take the Senad at night, washing down with water. The initial dose for adults and children over 12 years - 1 tablet, if necessary, it can be increased to 2-3 tablets per day. They operate in 8-12 hours. The instructions to the drug say that it is not addictive. However, his long and uncontrolled reception can lead to the fact that the Senate will be less effective. Usually the chair will be normalized within a few days. However, even if this did not happen, after two weeks a break should be made, replacing the senade with another laxative if necessary.

The use of this drug is indicated for constipation of various etiologies, including chronic, caused by reduced tone and sluggish peristalsis of the intestine. It is also prescribed after childbirth and surgery, when self-emptying of the intestine is difficult. However, there is no information in the manual that it is possible to use the "Senade" preparation for weight loss.

Certainly, the composition of most drugs that help to get rid of excess weight include various laxatives. However, in addition, the means for weight loss contain substances that promote the normalization of metabolism and burning of fatty deposits, suppressing the appetite and removing excess fluid from the body. The intake of laxatives alone, including the Senate, for weight loss will not give the desired effect. Of course, this drug can bring certain benefits: the intestine will be cleaned of harmful deposits, the peristalsis and, accordingly, the stool will normalize. You may even be able to get rid of one or two kilos of weight by taking a Senada for weight loss. But do not delude themselves: their loss is not due to fatty deposits, but solely due to the cleaning of the intestine from its contents and loss due to the relief of some fluid.

The instructions to the drug lists possible side effects from its administration: pain in the intestines, which can sometimes be quite strong, flatulence (increased gas formation), nausea and vomiting. If it is used for a long time, the water-electrolyte balance may be disturbed in the body. In addition, individual hypersensitivity to this drug may occur, resulting in, for example, skin rashes. Senada is forbidden to take with spastic constipation, intestinal obstruction, chronic appendicitis, strangulated hernia, cystitis. During pregnancy and lactation, during the postoperative period, and also to children under six years of age, he is appointed with caution. The drug effectively cures constipation, making the bowel emptying regular. However, getting rid of it with extra pounds will be very problematic: it simply does not have such properties.

Given all of the above, taking the drug "Senade" for weight loss can hardly be considered appropriate. Along with other means, it can be used in the complex treatment of obesity, accompanied by long constipation, but only on the prescription of a doctor.
