Robert Plant - the legend of rock vocal

Robert Anthony Plant was born on August 20, 1948 in Halsoon (a neighborhood of Birmingham). The future famous singer was trained at the school of King Edward VI, located in Stourbridge.

Sources of musical career

The boy's parents, or rather his father, wanted their child to start accounting. However, since the youngest years Robert Plant has taken a great interest in music. Hearing the blues performed by such masters as R. Johnson and Sonny Williamson, the young man decided that his fate is closely related to the vocals.

First performances

A family

In 1968, Robert Plant, whose personal life went well, married Maureen Wilson. After a while, the couple had a daughter, named parents of Carmen Jane, and then the son of Karak was born. Robert Plant, whose family has grown, managed to combine and communicate with her, and a musical career.

Led Zeppelin

On one of Obs-Tweedle's appearances with Robert's participation was Jimmy Page, who was so impressed by the vocal performance of the singer that he offered him cooperation. At the same time, friendship broke out between the musicians.

After Robert Plant joined the group, he recommended Jimmy to invite John Bonham. The band was named The New Yardbirds by the band and went on a tour of the Scandinavian countries. After that, the rockers decided to rename their band. Then the legendary Led Zeppelin appeared.

Recorded by the group album Led Zeppelin I brought Plantu fame, he was already talking about journalists and critics, his name began to fall into all sorts of ratings and lists.

Led Zeppelin II presented the fans of the band with more than just Robert's vocals, but also helped to recognize him as the author of songs.

The third album of the band was unexpected for critics who believed that Led Zeppelin would weight his sound. However, Robert Plant always believed that musicians should go away from heavy metal, and in their works use more arrangements, acoustics.

Led Zeppelin IV brought to the fans a single, which became a classic of heavy rock. This is Stairway To Heaven, which is associated with many interesting cases. Some argue that the singer was helped to write this song by otherworldly forces.

It is interesting that at his concerts Robert Plant very often allowed improvisation, during which he could sing absolutely new words, quatrains. And with all this, the musician quite easily kept on the stage, having time to talk in a jocular manner with listeners.

Solo Records

In 1982, the solo career of the singer began. Robert Plant, whose discography (in the sense of solo performance) began with the recording of Pictures at Eleven, continued his work. He managed to collaborate with Phil Collins, recording the next album. Later he organized a group of Honeydrippers, which recorded only two songs and broke up.

Further, several more albums were recorded, the author of which was keyboardist Phil Johnston. It was the latter who persuaded Robert to perform the songs of the great Led Zeppelin, which the singer did not want to sing before, because he did not want to remain in history just as a "former vocalist".

During his long career, Robert Plant recorded many excellent songs that have become world famous. Some of them are still in the first lines of the charts. Robert's vocals influenced a whole string of the following rock vocalists. This was acknowledged by many of them, for example, such famous personalities as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Freddie Mercury of Queen and many others.

Each music composition of the singer can be spoken endlessly, and there are many of them in Plant's arsenal. Fans of the vocalist still enjoy many of his things, recorded both during the participation in Led Zeppelin, and solo.
