For the first time the spectator meets the controversial hero in the action movie "The Black Hole", released on screens in 2000. Locked in steel chains, like a ferocious predator, he appears in the image of a terrible and ruthless killer. He is transported to prison on a spaceship under the protection of Ranger Jones. But as a result of the accident and, as a consequence, the crash, Riddick and the survivors find themselves on a strange planet. The main role in the film brilliantly played Vin Diesel.

Riddick in his performance received exactly the animal magnetism, which is so fond of the viewer in this hero. The events of the film are developing rapidly. Heroes need to fight for life and make difficult decisions in the aggressive environment of the planet. Their actions immediately make it clear who is who. The criminal, one whose form was horrifying, turned out to be more humane than a representative of the law, called to protect justice. Therefore, when the film "The Black Hole" comes to an end, the viewer no longer has a question about how to relate to the character. And in the subsequent films the fans of the main character sympathize with him already quite justifiably.

Main character

About his life, in addition to being repeatedly in prison and violating galactic laws, little is known. The baby Riddick was found hardly alive in the garbage can of the liquor store, wrapped around his own umbilical cord around the throat. The orphan who passed through the helpline of shelters for children was eventually brought up by the street. He is accustomed to survival according to the rules of the underworld. It is guided by animal instincts, which repeatedly saved his life. Has a sharp mind and excellent physical data. The real name, presumably Richard B. Riddick, is about 24 years old. A loner by nature, personal connections and attachments are not burdened.

Characteristics and skills

Rebellious Ranger

Having reached adulthood, Richard B. Riddick agrees to a dangerous job in the corporate military service of the Rangers. His task was to detect and neutralize the huge poisonous lizards in the mines on the planet Sigma-3. Impressed with his abilities and successes, the leadership directs Richard to the Strikeforce Strike Force Academy. There he is taught the skills of a professional killer. After graduating from the Academy of Rangers, Richard went to the moon Sigma-3 to ensure the safety of the settlers. The living conditions there were terrifying, the colonists were used as slaves, and the guards were more like prison guards.

Outraged by this abuse of power, Riddick submits a report to the company. But instead of correcting the situation, the leadership destroys the evidence collected by him, declares him an offender and sends him to prison.

Fugitive and dangerous criminal

In prison, Riddick spent two years with little. After studying the order of the arrival of cargo ships, he thought out a plan for escape. Taking advantage of the right moment, Richard cut down the guard, changed into uniform and slipped unnoticed from the prison building. Outside, he took possession of a cargo spacecraft and flew away, while shooting guards and a pilot. Hiding under a false name from bounty hunters, Richard B. Riddick worked as a mercenary. But as soon as his identity was uncovered, he again landed in prison, from which he again escaped. So it was repeated many times.

Riddick became the most wanted and dangerous criminal of the galaxy. It was getting harder to take him, and a huge reward was assigned for his head, because with similar attempts Richard had already killed many rangers and mercenaries.

During one of the seizures, carried out by a contingent led by William Jones, the latter was seriously wounded and decided to take revenge. The consequence of this revenge was the capture of Riddick with the help of notorious thugs, who were promised a high reward.

Prediction and new opportunities

In the Butcher Bay jail with a triple level of protection, Riddick applies for medical assistance to one prisoner. That for twenty menthol cigarettes agreed to do Richard's operation on the cornea of the eye. During this medical procedure, Riddick receives a vision of a mysterious woman who predicts his great destiny. Waking up, Richard B. Riddick found that he can now see in the dark, and his eyes shine with silver, but there is a side effect - intolerance of bright light. And now, to protect himself from it, Richard will have to wear special very dark glasses, which, of course, did not make him happy. But with new opportunities, he could escape, in this Richard helps William Jones, pursuing selfish goals.

A cunning bounty hunter decided to once again receive a reward for Riddick. Working together, they managed to arrange a riot in prison, steal the personal ship of Chief Hoxie and fly away from Butcher Bay. Taking advantage of the first chance presented, Riddick escaped from Jones, who rushed to find the fugitive, pursuing him in several worlds.

The film "The Black Hole"

In the process of viewing the film, the viewer becomes witness to the fact that after several unsuccessful attempts, Jones managed to grab Riddick. Knocked in iron like a beast, a bounty hunter on a spaceship was supposed to take Richard to the next prison. The circumstances interfered: the ship was wrecked on one of the abandoned planets. Pilot Carolyn Fry wanted to prevent this, dropping the passenger compartment for evacuation purposes, but the navigator prevented her from doing what she had planned. Survivors, including Riddick and Jones, are now forced to jointly seek the path of salvation from a world inhabited by monsters.

While on a hostile planet, Richard is fond of the pilot of the ship Carolyn Fry. Learning about her rational, but not humane, decision to get rid of the passenger compartment in order to evacuate the ship, Richard B. Riddick sees in the girl the qualities peculiar to him. He believes that everything around is subordinated to the instinct of self-preservation. Later, when Fry risks himself to save the survivors, Riddick reconsiders his conviction and joins her. Despite all the efforts, the damned planet destroyed almost everyone. Riddick managed to save only Imam Abu Al-Walid and a teenage girl hiding under the man's name Jack. Carolyn died at the entrance to the emergency shuttle, in which the survivors flew off the planet. Later, Riddick said that he died there along with Fry.

"Chronicles of Riddick"

From the plot of the film the audience becomes aware that Riddick dropped Imam Abu Al-Walid and a girl on the planet Helion Prime. He himself went to the icy wilderness of planet 6 of the UV system. In the hope that bounty hunters will forget about him and stop the persecution, Richard has been there for five years. But one day a hunter's ship appears on the planet. Overcoming them, Riddick takes the ship and finds out that the order was received from Helion Prime. This means that the imam betrayed him, because only he and the girl knew about the whereabouts of Riddick.

Arriving at Helion Prime, Richard meets with Abu Al-Walid. He finds out that the hunters hired an imam, because this was the only chance to find Richard and ask for help. After all, Helion Prime and all other planets are threatened with death from the race of necromongers, who all intend to turn everything into the Universe of Death. They have already destroyed a whole star system and are heading to Helion Prime. The Imam asks Riddick to hear the representative of the race of the Four Elements. She tells him that, according to legend, only the Furian can defeat the necromongers, and Richard is the only representative of this race of mighty warriors. So Riddick is involved in the universal war.

The leader of the necromongers also knows about the prediction. Because of him, he destroyed the population of Furies, but did not know about the surviving boy. And now all the forces are thrown on his quest. Also, the Imam said that the girl that Richard knew as Jack was gone. She admired Riddick and decided to become a criminal. Now she is in prison on the scorching planet of the crematorium.

By the will of fate Riddick goes to this planet and frees Cyrus - so now the name of the girl. When you try to leave the crematorium, it falls into the hands of necromongers, who follow the trail of Riddick. Further, the film "The Chronicles of Riddick" tells the viewer that the prediction is coming true, and Riddick, defeating the Lord-Marshal in a duel, takes the place of the necromonger's law.

Riddick

Richard got the throne, but he lost Cyrus. Before her death, she managed to admit that she had always been with him. Riddick leads armadas of necromongers into deep space. Now the time has come to find Furia. Only Seberius Vaako knows about her whereabouts - one of the main commanders of necromongers. Riddick concludes with Vaakou a deal - a throne in exchange for Furia. Seberius agrees and delivers Richard to an abandoned planet. It turns out that this is a hoax and a trap.

Necromongers are trying to destroy Riddick, and in the hope that they have succeeded, they leave the planet. Riddick was again in a monstrous world. Of course, he managed to get out, and the necromongers are now unhappy.

Interestingly, in the extended version of the last film, the screenwriters of the trilogy, Jim Whit and Ken Whit, offered the viewer an additional episode. Riddick returns to the ship of the necromongers and learns that Vaako became the "Holy Half-dead". In the viewing window of the ship, Richard sees the gate to the universe of death. This is the sacred place of the necromongers, where every Lord Marshal must enter. But, since this episode is not included in the main version, the viewer can hope that he is waiting for the further adventures of Riddick.
