Results of the First World War. The course of hostilities

This historic event and the results of the First World War entered the history of mankind as one of the most brutal and large-scale actions directed against all mankind.

The main impetus for the hostilities was the assassination of the Austrian prince Franz Ferdinand, which occurred in Sarajevo in the middle of the summer of 1914. More specifically, the twenty-eighth of July. It is this date that historians who summed up the results of the First World War consider it to be the official beginning of hostilities. The murderer was a Bosnian student Gavriliy Princip, who was associated with one of the most famous and cruel terrorist organizations at the time .

The course of the First World War was inevitable, because even long before the famous murder, the most powerful states of Europe restrained their anger at each other. Seven years before the military operations, the first military-economic bloc was formed, with Russia, the French Republic and Great Britain as allies. Thus, these states agreed on rendering all kinds of assistance to each other than creating a huge danger for Germany, which, in turn, also created such a bloc, called the Triple Alliance. In addition to the German power, Italy and Austro-Hungary entered it.

On the eve of the war, Germany was experiencing significant problems with the number of internal armed forces because of the democratic policy of the Social Democrats, who, starting in 1912, carried out several reforms aimed at reducing the strength of the army.

It was surprising that, despite all the political and military contradictions between Russia and Germany, German artillery troops continued to conduct their exercises in the territory of their future enemy.

The summarized results of the First World War show that since 1914 military operations have developed at once in several parts of the world. In addition to the battles on the territory of Russia and France, the war had its own turn in the African colonies and the Middle East. European colonies that were in China and Oceania, too, did not stay away from the war. Based only on this, it can be said that before this in the history of the planet there were no such large-scale military battles, and if it were not for the Second World War, the consequences of the First World War would have remained the cruellest times in the history of mankind.

Despite such hostilities as the invasion of German troops in Belgium, border battles in almost all states of Europe and the world, France surprises historians by the fact that under the guise of common fear and chaos, it attacked Alsace and Lorraine. These are the same lands that the French have sacrificed as a result of the defeat in the Franco-Prussian War. Thus, one of the members of the Entente was not shy to achieve their personal goals, covering himself with the First World War.

It is worth noting the actions of the German fleet, which purely on the geographical location of the country should not be too strong. Despite this, German submarines managed to perform miracles in the sea. And what can I say about the fact that they managed to defeat the British fleet, which at that time was famous for the whole world for its combat capability and was considered one of the strongest in the world.

Summing up the results of the First World War, we can say that this was Germany's first massive failure as an aggressor. Although this state turned out to be quite a powerful rival in the military plan. But now we can compare these opinions with the events of the second World War, where Germany was also the first time to win all and everywhere, and in the end it was a loser and was defeated with shame.
