Rashes on the body of a child: possible causes

The rash on the body of a child is quite a common phenomenon, which provokes a variety of parental reactions. Some moms (usually young and inexperienced) fall into a panic and begin to call the doctor at the same time, consult with more experienced girlfriends and look for information on the Internet, others grab for the green and carefully sketch the child, the third do not see the appearance of a rash is nothing terrible - Itself will pass with time. But before thinking how to treat a rash on the body and whether it is worth doing, it is necessary to understand what caused it.

Most often, the rash on the body in a child is an allergic reaction that occurs in response to the effect on the body of a substance (certain foods, medicines, household chemicals, dust, etc.) Contrary to popular belief, an allergic rash occurs not only when, When the child "ate something". The skin can respond by the appearance of a rash on any contact (washing powder) or respiratory (dust, wool) allergen. Sometimes rashes are accompanied by lacrimation, runny nose and cough (one of the listed symptoms or several at once). An allergic rash can occur on a single site or spread through the body, often accompanied by a painful itch. As a rule, parents know that their child is inclined to similar rashes and is able to understand if the nature is allergic to this rash.

A rash on the body of a child can be a manifestation of many infectious diseases. In this case, it is most often accompanied by fever, deterioration of well-being and lethargy. The most common infections that are accompanied by rashes on the body are:

-polar pox (or simply "chickenpox"), at which the rashes first look like small reddish spots, but quickly turn into fluid-filled prysmuses, like drops of dew in a pink-red halo. The first specks appear under the hair (and therefore often go unnoticed), then spread to the face and body. A characteristic feature of chickenpox is very severe itching;

- measles, in which the rash occurs in 3-6 days after the onset of malaise, which occurs with fever, cough and runny nose. The measles rash begins to appear behind the ears, then spreads to the face and hands and spreads over the whole body 2-3 days. Spots of rash have a red-pink color and sometimes even merge with each other;

- Rubella, the rash with which slightly resembles measles, but spreads throughout the body much faster - per day. Rubella in children is mostly easy enough and is accompanied by a slight rise in temperature, a slight runny nose and a sore throat (and even then not always);

- scarlet fever, which flows quite heavily - with severe intoxication, high fever, severe sore throat. The rash, which is a red speck that protrudes above the skin, appears near the end of the first day of the illness and quickly covers the entire body. A characteristic symptom of scarlet fever is that it covers the entire face, except for the nasolabial triangle;

- streptodermia (or streptococcal lesions of the skin), in which pink spots appear on the skin, which gradually turn into vesicles and burst, leaving a pinkish-yellow crust.

In addition to the listed diseases, the rash on the body in a child can be caused by a number of other diseases, the most dangerous among them is meningococcemia, which is a lightning-fast form of meningococcal infection. This disease is accompanied by high fever, severe headache, often nausea and vomiting, confusion. The rash looks like specks of different sizes and sizes, which spread rapidly over the body and can take the character of hemorrhages. At the slightest suspicion that the rash on the body in a child may be a symptom of meningococcemia, it is necessary to urgently seek medical help (because in this case the bill goes for hours, and sometimes for minutes).

If the child has a rash on the body, you do not need to lubricate it with a greenery or various curative and drying ointments, at least before the doctor looks at it, because otherwise it will be very difficult to diagnose it. Treatment of the rash depends on the cause of its occurrence - in one case it will be anti-allergic drugs, in another drying products, in the third - antibacterial ointments, and in the fourth rash it will pass by itself together with the disease that caused it.
