Psychosomatic disorders.

What is "psychosomatic disorder"? Somatic disorders due to severe mental disorders. In other words, somatic diseases that arise as a result of disorders in the mental sphere.

There are a number of diseases that occur in both acute and chronic forms, the causes of which are mental disorders (in the pathology of the thought process).

However, most somatic pathology does not develop, and patients simply inspire themselves with the presence of manifestations of this or that disease. Their hyperbolized perception in this case creates a violation in perception, as a result of the usual disruption of peristalsis, they take for ulcers, peritonitis, appendicitis. As such, the pain component is absent, but it is easily thought out by the patient. Therefore, the detection of symptoms of vegetative disorders does not yet indicate the presence of organic changes in the internal organs or central nervous system. This symptomatology can be caused by negative emotions or experiences. So acute mental stress or emotional experience can cause a number of vegetative symptoms: increased pressure, increased breathing, dysfunction of the digestive tract, changes in bladder tone and even an increase in blood coagulability. These changes develop as an adaptive response of the organism to an external stimulus.

For the purpose of reliable confirmation of the presence of somatic pathology, additional instrumental diagnostic manipulations are carried out. After confirming the presence of pathology of organs and systems, it is established whether it is possible that psychosomatic disorders develop in this disease.

Diagnosis of this type of disorders is extremely important, since approaches to the treatment of somatic and psychosomatic diseases are completely different.

So, psychosomatic disorders are basically based on the pathology of the mental sphere of activity, as the etiological component of the disease. Somatic pathology is treated, solely affecting the affected organs and systems. As a result, with the wrong diagnosis, the treatment of psychosomatic disorders is protracted and unsuccessful.

Psychosomatic disorders in children of adolescents and adolescents are now a very significant health problem. The difficulty of recognizing and diagnosing such diseases often leads to a late establishment of a true diagnosis.

Manifestations of psychosomatic disorders symptoms of diseases of various organs and systems (motor, endocrine, digestive, excretory, respiratory, cardiovascular). In addition, there may be abnormalities in thermoregulation, as well as various skin diseases.

Psychosomatic disorders are quite difficult to treat. The course of therapy includes: drug therapy, various types of psychotherapy, as well as physiotherapy. In addition, the therapy of this pathology provides for significant differences, depending on the type of mental disorder.

Psychosomatic disorders treatment involves a multicomponent and complex.

Drug therapy consists of a complex of sedative (or tonic) drugs, nootropics and analgesics.

In addition, various types of psychotherapy are used: conversation, supportive and dynamic psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hypnosis, stationary, behavioral, analytical and other types of psychotherapy.

As an additional component in the course of treatment, various physiotherapy procedures (balneotherapy, mud therapy and others) are used.

Thus, psychosomatic pathology is widespread at the present time. The existing difficulties in diagnosing this disease, as well as the difficulties in treatment, cause an unfavorable prognosis for the patient.
