How sometimes you want to be able to distinguish a lie from the truth. After all, you can say anything! But in the yard of the XXI century, and in addition to the lie detector there is a profiler. It is about him that will be discussed in our article.

The meaning of the word "profiler" has English roots. Word word profile, from which the concept has occurred, is translated as "psychological profile". Initially, these specialists were useful only in criminology, where the method of solving crimes through the creation of a psychological portrait was actively used . The art of profilers was that the portrait of the criminal created by them was absolutely identical to its real appearance.

The art of identifying the slightest details in the manners and behavior of another person requires a profiler of considerable knowledge and professional skills. It is necessary to clearly understand what exactly you need to pay attention to, and what can be pushed to the background. Often in their work, a profiler (verifier) uses a dictaphone or a video camera to record a conversation or videotape the situation as a whole. This method works efficiently, because when personal contact you can miss the seemingly insignificant details, and the film fixes everything. After the conversation, you just need to turn on the recording and listen / view it, doing a certain analysis.

The verifier observes facial expressions, gestures, behavioral characteristics, examines the psycholinguistic patterns of speech, paralinguistic signs of verbal production.

After all, almost every one of us, listening to a person whose dialogue is characterized by verbosity, confusion of the story, thoughtfulness over answers, nervousness, immediately decides that he was a victim of deception. Transport profiling is a way of identifying passengers that can be a danger to the public: mentally unbalanced and aggressive persons, individuals who carry a weapon with them, etc. After all, such specialists have the ability to identify such persons unproblematically.

Hotel profiling. It is used as a preventive measure in the name of avoiding crimes of a different nature that may occur in the hotel.

Staffing profiling. Is in the "exposure" of the applicant for the post and allows you to dig up to what he himself does not write about himself - game addiction, the criminal past, the existence of debts in especially large amounts, etc.

More recently, such a concept as family profiling has been introduced - the ability to recognize the real intentions of a future husband, the difficulties in the life of a growing son outside the family, and so on.

Profiling is one of the specific forms of activity that unites various branches of the humanities, including art, history and others. Therefore, a future profiler should have a higher or incomplete higher education.

However, it is widely believed that a "living lie detector" must necessarily have not only a humanitarian education, but also a basic psychological one. This is because profiling refers to the psychological sciences. At the moment, there is no definitive answer regarding the mandatory nature of the existence of such an education for a pretender to the position of a profiler.
