Professional resurfacing of scars

How often external defects cause a person to suffer not only psychologically, but also physically! Pain, itching, tightening of the skin brings him post-burn, postoperative or post-traumatic scars.

Modern cosmetologists have at their disposal the latest tools and apparatus for skin rejuvenation and treatment. This applies to devices for laser resurfacing of scars and facial skin.

Foreign experts in the field of cosmetology believe that laser-assisted laser scoring is the most effective and safe method. The aesthetic result of this procedure depends on the type of scar and its size. In any case, the use of the laser will significantly improve its appearance, after the procedure it will become less noticeable.

Cosmetology divides the scars into several types:

- normotrophic scar;

- Atrophic and hypotrophic scar, formed due to any skin lesions, requiring treatment and recovery of collagen levels;

- hypertrophic scar, which occurs when excessive formation of connective tissue during wound healing. This type of scars can not dissolve on their own and it is in this case that the laser is needed to resharp the scars.

In addition, the laser is used to remove keloid scars. This gives the necessary aesthetic effect. This procedure is complex, and only a few clinics in our country effectively solve this problem.

Two methods are used for laser scar treatment. The first is based on the use of a neodymium laser, which is capable of making a "normal" scar tissue. With the help of such a laser there is a significant softening of the scar.

Another method - the so-called correction of scars microdermabrasion. The procedure is painless and effective. This laser resurfacing of the scars (photo below) using an erbium laser. With this method of correction, the smallest layers of scar tissue are gradually removed.

Especially effective is the combination of these two techniques. Laser grinding is very thin, with a jeweler's precision (up to one micron) is able to eliminate scar tissue and push the mechanism of collagen synthesis, which updates the surface of the skin.

This grinding of scars has another undeniable merit - antibacterial properties of the effect on the skin. Thus, laser exposure completely eliminates the risk of complications. The duration of the course of treatment is individual, but on average, four to six procedures will be required to remove the rumen with a break of six to nine weeks.

In the fight against scars of different types, good results were achieved by plastic surgeons. Depending on the type of cicatrix, its size and other characteristics prescribe a method of treatment. To make scarring less visible is possible with the help of modern radiosurgical equipment by grinding.

This operation is especially effective for severe skin damage after acne. Reducing the width of the scar is possible only with the help of plastic surgery. Keloid scars are successfully treated with a radiosurgical method using corticosteroids.

Patients should be aware that a plastic surgery for correction of the scar can be prescribed only after it has matured completely, and it occurs not earlier than a year later. Over time, many scars pale, become less noticeable. But if a year after the healing the scar is still large and very noticeable, then it is advisable to raise the question of the operation.
