Prayer before leaving home. Who and how to pray?

Every Christian knows that prayer before leaving home is the most important rite that can protect a person from various kinds of trouble. That is why the Orthodox priests call upon all people to observe this ancient ritual of the sacrament. After the recitation of the prayer takes only a few minutes, and its defense then lasts all day.

The Role of Prayer in the Life of Christians

In the past, our ancestors taught children from an early age that any important event begins with an appeal to God. After all, only he knew the fate of man and could help him at a difficult moment. And then you should understand that any journey is also a significant event, since you never know how it will end and that you can meet on the way.

That is why prayer is so important before you leave the house. After reading it, a person finds protection from evil spirits, who now and then strive to annoy him. In addition, the sacred texts give Christians God's grace. Being under its cover, people increase their luck, which contributes to the realization of their plans.

Who should we pray to?

There are many saints who protect travelers on the road. However, among them, the strongest are the Mother of God and St. John Chrysostom. This is due to the fact that they have the power of heavenly protectors, which is able to protect against all misfortunes. In addition, the priests recommend that they seek help from the guardian angel. No matter where we go, it always accompanies us. That is why it is able to show its strength at our first call.

The prayer required before reading out of the house (St. John Chrysostom)

St. John Chrysostom for a long time patronizes travelers. In the past, no self-respecting merchant dared to leave the doorstep without asking the help of this blessed one. After all, then people were well aware that the road - this is an extremely dangerous place, which without a twinge of conscience punishes those who dared to neglect their safety.

According to ancient Christian teaching, these words were spoken by John Chrysostom every time he left his room. However, it is not necessary to go into such extremes. It will be quite sufficient if a prayer is read before leaving the house: "I am rejecting you, Satan, serving you and your pride. And I believe in you, Christ, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen".

Most Orthodox priests are advised to use this very appeal to God. After all, in the first place, one of his most devoted servants prayed like this, and secondly, the text is so short that everyone can easily remember it.

Prayer to the Mother of God

Among all the saints, the Most Holy Mother of God possesses the greatest protective power. If you believe the old traditions, then her grace helped whole cities and peoples to survive at a dangerous time for them. Therefore it is not surprising that the best defensive prayer is one that is directed towards the face of the Mother of God.

There are many sacred texts that can save a person during his wanderings. But the strongest is this: "Theotokos, my Lady, I beseech thee, drive from me, slave of the humble, oblivion, negligence, despondency and irrationality. Fence thy slave servant with filthiness, hooliganism and evil. Purge my thoughts, my heart and my mind from the thoughts of the unworthy, your name is defiling. Deliver me from evil and begin evil, that glory is defiled by Thine. You are blessed, and your kindred, and your name is known for ever and ever. Amen".

Prayer to the Guardian Angel

The guardian angel always protects us from misfortune and evil spirits. However, his strength is not unlimited, and therefore he needs our support. Orthodox monks are sure that prayer can strengthen its power, because it is a direct proof of a person's faith. Therefore, the more often a Christian cries to his guardian angel, the stronger he becomes.

It is best when the prayer is read before leaving the house: "Guard me from the sinful, the Holy Angel, from my passionate life. Do not leave me in the house and in the way long. Do not let the devil demon possess me, nor my body, nor my soul. Give strength to complete all my work, strengthening my thin and distressing hand. The Holy Angel of the Lord, the guardian of the body and soul, forgive all my sins, as I did them in my stupidity. Cover me with grace in this day, so that I will withstand all temptations and evil thoughts. For you are always with me, until the Great Court is fulfilled. Amen".

Pronounced prayer before leaving home for good luck

Quite often, we leave the house for a reason, not just for that. For example, we go to study, work, interview or in a hospital. Naturally, at such times we very much want luck to accompany us, because the whole future day depends on it.

In such cases, it is best to ask the Lord directly for his favor. For example, after reading the following prayer: "Lord, Jesus Christ, our Savior, receive my sincere prayer and bless the intent of your servant (Name). Instruct, as it is possible safely to start business, without obstacles of others, that they glorify your name. For you are merciful, our God, and you remain with your Father, and with life-giving good in your Spirit, now and ever and forever and ever. Amen".

The duty of every Christian

Prayer, before reading from home read, able to save from many troubles and disappointments. But it should be remembered that without faith even sacred texts lose their power. Without it, they are just a set of words that can not in any way affect the fate of a person.

Therefore, any Christian, above all, must rely on his own sense of faith. I mean to speak with the Lord not only when His help or guidance is needed, but also for nothing. He is our Heavenly Father. And like any parent, He loves when His children treat Him with respect and respect. And prayer, when leaving the house is readable, is just one way to show Him your devotion.
