Pear Talgar beauty. Description, characteristics, reviews

Many people rightly consider pear queen among fruits. Such a title this fruit is due not only to its delicious taste, but also beneficial effects on human health.

What country was the birthplace of a pear - no one knows. However, it is precisely known that at first this plant was wild and used only for decorative purposes. Only with time, in the process of evolution, a person has the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful taste of these fruits.

But at first they could not be used for food without preliminary heat treatment. The first varieties, the fruits of which could be eaten raw, appeared in France and Italy. Today there are a lot of varieties of pears. Each of them has its own unique properties. This article describes one such pear - a sort of Talgar beauty.

Appearance of the plant

It is known that this variety was bred in the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Viticulture and Horticulture. It was received by A.N. Katseyko, an experienced breeder. After free pollination of the Forest Beauty, a pear was cultivated from the seeds of the Talgar beauty (description below).

Trees of this class are classified as medium-sized. Their medium-thick crown can be of various shapes - from rounded to wide pyramidal. On the stem and the main branches of the tree, the bark is gray and palpable.

Foliage, shoots, petioles

Is the Talgar beauty beautiful? The testimonies of experienced gardeners indicate that this variety has a very high shoot-forming ability. The shoots themselves are not too thick, undressed, not twisted, brown in color. There are a lot of not too large, pinkish lentils. They are clearly visible.

On the trees grows a lot of large long leaves, ovoid, slightly pointed, shape. The leaves are dark green, shiny and smooth to the touch. Their plate is flat, less often a little concave, with finely serrated edges.

The petioles of the plant are not too thick and long. The small stipules have a subulate shape. Pear Talgar beauty is distinguished by large conical pubescent growth buds and medium-sized smooth floral.

Main characteristics

It is believed that this variety has a high winter hardiness. Of course, in a normal, not too severe winter, the tree does not freeze. However, experts noted that if the temperature drops below 32-34 ° C, then many plants freeze quite hard. Meanwhile, the freezing of these plants is still much lower than in other similar varieties, for example, the Forest Beauty.

Good regeneration - this is another property that distinguishes the pear Talgar beauty. The description of specialists who provided good care to the frozen plants indicates that the trees are recovering very quickly. The next year they are abundantly bearing fruit, bringing about a hundred kilograms of useful fruit.

This variety has good resistance to pests and fungal diseases. It is easy to plant to seedlings of cultivars and to a forest pear. Also it is perfectly compatible with the quince.

The flowering period is medium. Also perfectly pears the pear Talgar beauty. Planting of one-year-olds, who were vaccinated on the seed stock, to a permanent place in 4 years will bring a large number of fruits. Productivity is abundant and regular.

Pear fruit

Fruits in size larger than the average, reach a mass of 140 grams or more. They are slightly oblique at the apex, elongated. This form is called a bottle. With a large pear crop may be slightly uneven.

Pear Talgar beauty is a form of a funnel. It is very small, but wide, conical and unrestrained (on some fruits it is practically nonexistent). The pears are smooth, deep enough, but narrow. Pedicels slightly curved, with oblique arrangement.

Covering color - dotted, blurred. There is a large number of small subcutaneous points. On one side of the pear, covered in blush, these points of white are clearly visible, and on the other side they are small, almost indistinguishable and painted green.

The skin of ripe fruits is thin enough, smooth to the touch. In appearance pale yellow pears look shiny and oily, have a bright blush on one side. In rare cases, the crimson tint prevails almost on the entire surface of the fruit.

Pear Talgar beauty has dense flesh creamy hue, a little rough. However, it is distinguished by its fine-grained and juiciness. Fruity fragrance is weakly expressed. Taste qualities were estimated at 4.1 points.

Fruit ripening

This grade refers to the autumn. Mature fruits begin to be removed at the end of September. Distinguished pear Talgar beauty is a friendly, almost simultaneous ripening of fruits. On the branches they hold tight.

It is not necessary to remove the pears too late, since they can overreact strongly and then their core will not acquire a very pleasant brown color. Of course, this will not lead to the fact that the fruits will rot, but the presentation will be spoiled.

Fruits have good transportability, they do not deteriorate from pressure, they are not covered with dark spots during storage.

Advantages and disadvantages

Like any fruit, the Talgar beauty has its own peculiarities and pear. Feedback from those who cultivated this variety, allowed us to make a list of its main advantages and disadvantages.

To positive qualities include attractive appearance, long shelf life, high yield, good resistance to diseases, early ripeness and good winter hardiness.

To the negative - the punching of the core with late harvesting and an uninspired, slightly rough fruit pulp.

Meanwhile, the merits of this grade are much greater than the disadvantages. That is why it is very popular among experienced and novice gardeners.
