Ornaments for knitting with needles: ready-made and made by own hands

Those who like to knit, know how to decorate the products of colored patterns , made in jacquard technique. This can be an entire plot plotted. And you can use ornaments for knitting with knitting needles.

Jacquard patterns never go out of fashion

Strips consisting of identical repeating segments - ornaments, can be located at the gate of a sweater or dress, across the chest, at the bottom of the product, along the sleeve. It is common to use color patterns when making stockings, socks, elks, baby panties, caps. Also often knitting with knitted mittens with ornament is performed.

Sometimes masters use this method. They let several different cross strips, and inside each individual ornament is stripped. Geometrically simple figures and their combinations fit for knitting with such patterns. It can be squares, diamonds, triangles, crosses. If you want, you can make flowers, stars.

Often masters use Norwegian ornaments. For knitting with knitting needles like geometric flowers with diamond-shaped petals, as well as deer, spruce.

Technique of knitting jacquard patterns

To do this, choose the appropriate patterns for knitting with knitting needles. It is best to take those that assume the use of two colors: the background primary and secondary - to perform directly the pattern itself.

First, the master knits a background thread. Then, in the right place, an additional color comes into play. Therefore, the thread of a different color is tied to the main thread and the required number of loops is sewn. The main thread at this time is stretched on the wrong side of the product.

After completing as many loops as indicated on the diagram or indicated in the instructions to the drawing, the colors are changed. To do this, you need to leave a thread of additional color from the wrong side, and take the main background in the work.

How to tie mittens with ornament?

There are two options for using jacquard patterns in knitted mittens. One assumes the location of the main pattern on the back of the mittens. In this case, the half of the glove, which is located on the palm of your hand, is decorated quite simply: either by staggered colored loops, or by cages or strips, or at all remains monochromatic.

The second option suggests the entire mitten to knit in a circle with the same pattern. In this case, it is most convenient to do around the circle of narrow color strips, in which to launch the simplest geometric patterns.

So, do you need a pattern for the work?

Only naive people can assume that the drawing can be performed without any scheme. It's impossible! After all, even if someone watches someone without looking anywhere, knitting the ornaments with knitting needles, the diagrams of these drawings were once studied by him.

Separate gifted masters can "compose a pattern from the head", it's true. But in this case also knitting of ornaments with knitting needles is not performed spontaneously and spontaneously - the patterns of drawing are simply created and kept in the memory of the needlewoman. Presenting them to himself in the imagination, the master and performs the pattern.

Where to take the scheme of jacquard drawings?

A lot of designs are printed in special magazines for needlewomen. Wide schemes of drawings and on sites on knitting are widely presented.

And there is such an option: for example, a children's knitting pattern can be taken from a finished product, having carefully examined it.

But for convenience, it is recommended to first transfer the scheme to paper, lined in a cage. After all, otherwise you have to constantly keep a product with a pattern you like.

Help those whose hobby - knitting children's patterns with knitting needles, schemes for embroidery. You can even work a little yourself. Having chosen the segment you like in the printout, the master can create his own version of the ornament with his help.

Can you create an ornament for knitting yourself?

The answer is unequivocal: of course, you can! For creativity, the master will need only a pencil and a sheet-book in the cage. The paper will simulate the area of knitting in scale. Therefore it is necessary to allocate such a section, which will correspond to the part of the product covered with ornament. For example, the master plans to create a 10-row height strip, and the segment itself will be 12 loops wide. Therefore, on the tetrad sheet, a rectangle with sides equal to 12 and 10 loops should be selected.

Now the artist either paints some cells completely, or puts a cross in them, placing them in a certain order. And how to do it - will prompt fantasy.

But if such an option for the master turns out to be quite complicated, you can go the simpler way. Having chosen the most simple drawing, for example a leaf or a kitten, its silhouette should be transferred to a graph paper or the same notorious sheet-book. Now it remains to paint over those cells that are half-way into the object. The same cells that have entered the smaller part remain unshaded.

Thus it is possible to make an ornament not only two-color, but also three-color, and even four-color. However, it is much more difficult to work on multicolored patterns then. But the result is more interesting.

You can perform ornaments not only with manual binding, but also on the typewriter. Modern models already provide such a function in advance. On old (simplest) models of knitting machines perform knitting the ornament in two steps. First, hooks are put in the inoperative position, which will tie a thread of additional color, and the series itself is tied with a background thread. The next stage of work involves changing the position of all the hooks to the opposite. The row is tied with another color.
