Nikolai Nikolaevich Volkov is a brilliant actor of theater and cinema, who had the honorary title of People's Artist of the RSFSR and was a laureate of prestigious festivals.

Study in Odessa and Moscow

October 3, 1934 the future actor was born in Odessa in the family of the acting actor Nikolai Volkov. Parents decided to name their child in honor of his father. The further fate of the child, who has a father - a famous actor, was predetermined: he also had to become a creative person.

At the age of twenty-two, Nikolai Nikolayevich graduated from the Odessa Art School and got a job as an assistant director. In fact, the year Volkov worked at the Odessa film studio of television, and after resigning from there, he decided to enter the theater department named after Shchukin, who was at the Vakhtangov Theater. The future actor achieved this goal without difficulty, successfully passing the necessary exams and enrolling in an educational institution.

Work in the Moscow Drama Theater

After studying at the Schukinsky School until 1962 and successfully graduating from it, Nikolai Volkov, whose biography became firmly associated with creativity, becomes an actor of the Moscow Drama Theater, located in the capital on Malaya Bronnaya Street. It is in this theater that Volkov gets acquainted with the famous director Efros Anatoly, who so much liked the acting data of Volkov that he began to invite him to all his productions. A few years later, in 1968, Nikolai Nikolayevich became the leading actor of the theater.

Friends and colleagues at work recalled that he was very fond of not only the director Efros, but the rest of the actors and staff of the theater. For Efros, Volkov was a kind of muse in the male guise. Director's work was rarely done without the participation of Nicholas - he became an obligatory part of almost any Efrosovsky creation. Volkov performed excellent roles in the play "Summer and Smoke", staged by Williams. In the production of "Marriage" Volkov played the character Podkolesin. This role has seriously affected the acting personality of Volkov.

In 1987, the favorite director NN Volkova died, so the actor changed his place of work by going to the Mayakovsky Theater, where he continued his work. Some of the most notable roles performed by a brilliant actor were works in the films "Night on the Fourth Circle", "Woman Who Sings", "Mikhailo Lomonosov", "Sicilian Defense" and many others.

However, many believe that the true acting talent of Nikolai Volkov in the movie was not disclosed. Perhaps this was due to the fact that there was no such director as, for example, Efros, who could help the actor to fully express himself in the movies. So Olga Yakovleva claimed that if Volkov was shot under the leadership of Andrei Tarkovsky or Marlen Khutsiev, then the bright and extraordinary gift of Nicholas would be revealed.

In the cinema, Nikolai Nikolayevich performed more than fifty roles. He became a laureate of several festivals for his role in the movie "The Moon was a Garden", released in 2000. However, in addition to this achievement, by some other awards Nikolai Volkov, whose filmography is replete with good films and roles, was not spoiled, despite the fact that he was really very famous.

Nikolai Volkov is an actor whose personal life was closely connected with his family and work. He loved his family very much, but still his marriage broke up. The actor's wife was the famous actress Olga Volkova. It is noteworthy that Olga got her name not from a marriage with Nikolai Nikolayevich, but from a previous marriage. Before that, her husband was also Volkov, who also practiced acting. Ivan Volkov's son - Ivan - also followed in the footsteps of his father and is an actor in the theater, actively acting in various productions.

In the seventieth year of his life, Nikolai Nikolaevich died of cancer. This happened in 2003.
