Nikolai Nikolaevich Merzlikin is a native of the village of Sartynya, located in the Tyumen region.

He was born on April 16, 1945. Most of his childhood, the future actor spent in a small town of Emanzhelinsk (Chelyabinsk region), where his father worked in the mine.
