Neurosis of the Heart - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Along with the panic syndrome of one form of phobia is cardiopathy. It occurs mainly in young men (less often women) and in children. This is not the only form of functional disorders and heart disorders. With the normal functioning of the heart, cardio phobia (neurosis of the heart) is not noticed. Only excessive emotional tension or a strong physical load can lead to increased activity and heart reactions.

Neurosis heart symptoms.

Anxious state, arising from attacks, in which the patient is afraid of the onset of death from cardiac arrest, can arise without the presence of the disease. At the next attack at first there is a giddiness, a nausea, an easy compression of heart and internal uneasiness. However, a severe attack can occur without any precursors: sensation of a strong palpitations throughout the body , increased blood pressure, lack of air, a heavy feeling of tightness and contraction in the chest, a condition close to a fainting (without loss of consciousness), elementary fear and trembling in the whole body. The patient is afraid of cardiac arrest and death. Such panic attack and neurosis of the heart lead to panic arousal, during which the patient can run and beg for help.

Fear can not be caused at all by the presence of cardinal functional disorders, and the heart reactions and affect themselves are not pure consequences of fear. The attack lasts from 15 minutes to two hours. Even with the expectation of help, fear and excitement wane. The appearance of a doctor is more important than the medication provided. If the patient in the hospital, where there is always a doctor, then attacks of cardio phobia are less common.

After the onset of the first attack, the phobia develops. The mental equilibrium is lost , the patient lives in constant fear, already experiencing fear of fear (phobia of fear of expectation). This is not even influenced by the doctor's report on the normal functioning of the heart and persuasion that during previous attacks there were no effects. The intervals between attacks and their frequency are usually irregular. In these intervals the patient closely follows the work of his heart, measures the pulse and pays attention to his slightest deviations. He perceives random changes as undeniable signs of a disease with a severe outcome.

The patient tries to protect himself from any stresses, even tries to move less, avoids unrest and difficult situations to prevent an attack. The place of fear of death is the fear of fear and the desire to avoid dangerous situations. The patient is afraid to remain alone, does not sleep well, believing that the attack can suddenly come in a dream. Such a neurosis of the heart destroys his private life and greatly hurts his official activity.

Conditions of occurrence.

The reason for the first attack of neurosis is most often overexertion or acute conflict, separation, loneliness and disappointment, a strong experience about someone from close people. Thoughts about the fact that heart failure can happen at any moment become an extremely worrying factor even for healthy and young people. Intensive use of nicotine and coffee during this period can provoke neurosis of the heart.

However, to explain these factors is not enough. The actual cause may be the last blow in the case of prolonged neurotic development. Often the beginning comes from childhood. This can affect mostly dependent and spoiled children with a pronounced dependence on adults and large internal contradictions.

Treatment.

Usually a patient who has neurosis of the heart, like many fobiks, tries to perform self-medication with alcohol. This effect is completely inadequate and can lead to alcohol dependence. If the presence of a doctor and his installation does not help, then you should take tranquilizers or beta-blockers. However, this can only be used in acute cases as a means of initial therapy. Psychotherapy plays a decisive role in the treatment. A greater effect is achieved when it begins as early as possible.
