Neuritis of the ulnar nerve

Neuritis of the ulnar nerve according to the frequency of nerve damage is one of the first places.

The cause of the development of this condition is compression in the joint area, which occurs in people working with the use of elbows on a large workbench, working machine, table. Also, it can occur with prolonged sitting with an uncomfortable position of the upper limbs on the armrests of the armchairs. Localization of compression can be different. In some cases, it arises in the groove of the elbow, which is behind the medially located epicondyle. In other cases, it is localized at the point of exit of the ulnar nerve, where it is squeezed by an arch (fibrous origin) that passes between the two head of the flexor of the wrist. Isolated lesions are observed with fractures of the inner condyles of the shoulder, with an epicondylar fracture. Neuritis of the ulnar nerve is manifested by numbness and parasthesia in the region of the fourth, fifth finger, also along the ulnar edges of the hands to the level of the wrists. As the disease develops, there is a decrease in physical strength in the abduction, the leading muscles of the fingers. In this case, the brush takes the form of a "clawed paw".

If the disease does not accompany the neuritis of the radial nerve, then with it the main phalanges become an unbent view. With the preservation of the physiological function of the median nerve, the middle fingers with this pathology are bent, the fifth finger is assigned. You can note anesthesia or hypostasis in the ulnar region of the fourth, fifth fingers on the palmar side, as well as fifth, fourth and first half of the third on the back of the hands.

Neuritis of the ulnar nerve requires careful diagnosis. With it, the muscles of the hand atrophy : wormlike, the elevations of the fifth and first fingers, interosseous. Diagnosis is made using special tests:

- compression of the hand into a fist results in incomplete bending of the fifth, fourth, partly third fingers;

- if the brush is sufficiently densely to lean against the table, the little finger will be immovable;

- Bringing and breeding all the fingers will be difficult when fixing the brush to the table or other flat surface. This will especially affect the mobility of the little finger, the first finger;

- When carrying out a special sample, the straightened first finger can not hold a sheet of paper, the end phalanx of that finger can not make a bend.

If there are such signs, you can confidently put this diagnosis.

Today, the most common disease that is associated with the defeat of the nervous system is neuritis of the ulnar nerve. Treatment of this disease involves antiviral drugs, vitamins, anticholinesterase drugs, duplex, dibazol, homeopathic substances.
