Military rituals and traditions

The word "ritual" is known since ancient times, when the ancient people made a sacrifice in order to receive mercy from God. This ritual can be attributed to religious. In addition, civil, domestic and, of course, military rituals are singled out. The very concept means a solemn ceremony that reflects the meaning of the traditions established in society. This is a way of communication that expresses the vision of certain social groups or the whole society. They appear on the basis of the experience of the people and directly affect public relations.

As for the military rituals, they predetermine the established form of military behavior during solemn or mourning ceremonies. Always these rituals were an expression of the courage and nobility of the military. What kinds of military rituals can be divided? The answer can be found below.

Salute

This tradition is one of the oldest. Earlier, the giving of military honor was called "riches", but the meaning was the same. In the Middle Ages, there was no clear movement, meaning giving honor, so someone bowed, someone took off his hat. For the first time the knights began to lift the visors of their helmets, thus showing respect. There are no knights, and the habit of holding a hand to the headdress is preserved.

Now it looks a little different, but the fact of giving honor remains the same. This sign is considered a sign of respect and nobility. Traditions, military rituals remain unchanged from year to year. The Charter of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation contains the item "Military greeting", where it is clearly stated that it is obligatory in all spheres of activity, since it is a testimony of camaraderie and solidarity of the military.

Leading to the military oath

Military rituals of the RF Armed Forces are quite diverse, but the military oath is a bulwark among them. It is after uttering the coveted words that a civilian becomes a serviceman. The oath is an oath that the soldier promises to fulfill before the Fatherland. The ceremony of making the oath is clearly described in the Charter of the RF Armed Forces. Behind this whole event is the unit commander.

This is a very important ceremony for any military unit, this day is considered non-working and is declared festive. The commander of the unit makes a speech in front of the soldiers, who are built in advance with the battle flag and flag of the country. Those who must take an oath become in the front ranks. After the commander of the section uttered parting words, every soldier comes to him and swears to bear the duty to the Motherland. Then the hymn sounds, and the soldiers march.

Military rituals. Presentation of the battle flag

This is a special ritual, and for its holding an authorized person comes to the unit, which is entrusted to hand the banner. If the battle flag must be obtained in combat conditions, the order of construction is decided, depending on the circumstances.

When a special commander comes to the unit to hand over the military banner, the commander of this military unit must allocate him three men: one who will carry the banner, and two assistants. It can be both a sergeant and an officer, mostly with orders and merits before the Motherland.

When the time comes, the landlord, together with his assistants, takes out the battle flag, which is in the case, and becomes in the established place. The chief comes to them, who will hand it over. Then the commander gives the command of the whole part of "Smirno!", Approaches the commander and reports that the regiment is built.

After the adoption of the report, the chief welcomes the military regiment, then approaches the flag-bearer, who lowers the banner. The authorized person removes the cover, then reads out the Letter of the President of the Russian Federation and gives the banner. The hymn of the country sounds, the chief congratulates the regiment on this event, and the commander speaks the answer. The ritual of awarding the military banner of the military unit has always been considered one of the most important and solemn.

Distribution of arrivals by business units

Together with old rituals and traditions, new ones are emerging. The distribution of replenishment by units refers to such. After the business qualities of the new soldier are clarified, his profession, specialty, driver's license, characteristic, etc., will be distributed.

This ritual is also conducted in the presence of the entire military unit. At the appointed time, the entire regiment is lined up on the parade ground with the orchestra. The commander reads the order, then the soldiers come out who finish serving, and then the newcomers. This event ends with a solemn march.

The order of delivery of weapons and military equipment

Military rituals always fill soldiers with pride, and this one especially. This tradition is one of the most loved among military personnel. Handing of weapons and military equipment takes place after the soldier solemnly vowed to serve the Motherland, got acquainted with safety technology. All responsibility in this case rests with the unit commander. He issues an order in which he fixes the necessary armament and military equipment for the soldiers, and also appoints the date of the solemn event.

Then all information about weapons is entered into the military ticket. The event is as follows: the whole part is built on foot in front of the commander, he reads the order on the appropriation of small arms to soldiers. And calling each by name, he personally hands out his weapons. After that, the issue of arms and military equipment begins. Fighters should line up in this case by crews. And, as always, the ritual ends with a solemn march.

Seeing the military retired

Military rituals of the Russian Federation presuppose honoring not only young guys who are just about to start serving, but already those who retire or are retired. Seeing off in a solemn atmosphere, veterans can be invited to them.

On the appointed day, the regiment is lined up on foot, if necessary, the battle flag is taken out. The commander of the unit names the names of retired or retiring military personnel. They stand in the middle in front of a built-up regiment. Then the commander reads the order and rewards the distinguished. Then some soldiers say farewell words, a hymn sounds, and before the ranks of laid-off servicemen the regiment passes a solemn march.

Parades

This ritual is a very solemn event, which fell in love not only with military people, but also with civilians. The parade always represented a whole holiday, the military men proudly took part in it. The history of the origin of this tradition goes to Ancient Rome. At that time, triumphs were held - solemn inspections of troops.

The parade is a march after the victory. Not only in Rome, but also in the Old Russian state, such an event was practiced. At the present time, a clear form of the parade has already been established, as it should pass. The battle parades are divided into three parts: the construction, the meeting of the person who takes the parade, and the solemn march. The most famous parades in the history of our country are the marches of 1941 and 1945.

Salutes

Like parades, salutes enter into military rituals, which were invented long ago. They are inextricably linked. First saluted with a weapon - a sword, then a banner, and only then with shots. Now salute is often used not only as a military ritual, but also during holidays such as New Year, City Day, etc.

The first salute in Moscow was given in 1943, on August 5 in honor of the liberation of the Oryol and Belgorod cities from the fascist army. Until the end of the war, more than 350 artillery salutes were produced, which marked a victory.

Music

Colossal significance in military rituals and traditions has this kind of art. As soon as military rituals appeared, music became an integral part of them. Thanks to it, old traditions acquire new colors and create new rituals.

Music is considered the most colorful decoration of any solemn military event. In the period of wars and strife, it was music that led the fighters forward, gave them strength, gave them hope. At one time, the great commander A. Suvorov said that music makes the army twice as great.

But not only during wars, music plays a crucial role. In peacetime, no solemn ceremony of servicemen can do without an orchestra. She lifts the mood, makes the soldiers more united.

In military traditions, a special place belongs to marching music. When the ritual of handing the flag of the military unit passes, the work "Counter March" sounds, which sets up servicemen for the solemn ceremony, creates the necessary atmosphere.

At the moment it is difficult to recall any military events that are not accompanied by songs. Music always sounds: when taking a military oath, when rewarding, when inspecting troops. You can say for sure: a soldier without a song, like without a gun. So said the same A. Suvorov, and was absolutely right.

Military Etiquette

The army has always been a model of respect and etiquette. These values are not brought from outside, they are brought up in every military day in and day out. Current servicemen can be proud of themselves, feeling themselves heirs of the last generation, when the status of an officer meant much more, and etiquette was placed above other values.

But to be proud, you need to know what. To continue the military traditions of the generation of our fathers and grandfathers, we need to know them. As they say, ignorance does not absolve from responsibility. Russian military etiquette used to be considered the main spiritual value of the army. Nobility, honor - these words were synonymous with the army. It was then that the first traditions and rituals of servicemen were born.

It should be noted that a huge contribution to the development of this branch of Soviet Russia. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin also contributed to the creation of some military rituals, which remained relevant to this day. Some of them have become truly nationwide. The military rituals reflect all the courage and courage of soldiers, their unity and friendship.
