Marker for fabric: basic types
Counting crosses on the canvas when transferring the pattern to the fabric looks quite a challenge for both beginners and experienced needlewomen. This need not only tires, but often leads to the assumption of critical errors, especially if large-scale work is planned.
To avoid unnecessary problems, it is worth using a special marker for the fabric. Such tools are a convenient solution when creating a counting grid according to the embroidery scheme. Today you can choose a marker for a fabric of any shade, which allows you to work on a dark or light canvas.
Types
- A marker for the fabric flushing;
- Erasable marker;
- Disappearing marker;
- A marker designed to work on black cloth.
Next, consider the details of the quality of products of each type, try to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of individual devices that are used for marking out canvas.
Washable tissue marker
Some markers of the presented type contain the inscription air erasable, which indicates that after some time the paint will naturally be erased from the surface of the tissue. Therefore, it is not recommended to mark large fabrics with such devices, since the marks can disappear even before sewing is completed.
Flushing marker
Products of the type shown contain a special label water erasable. The marker for the fabric flushing Hemline leaves a distinct trace on the surface of the material, down to the rinsing of the matter in the water. The devices of this brand are ideal for implementing large-scale schemes, creating embroidery, which requires a significant time and effort.
However, it should always be remembered that a marker for a fabric that is washed off, the photo of which is presented in this material, often leaves a lasting impression on the surface of the canvas. Proceeding from this, the markings should not be left on the tissue for a long time (on the order of several months).
In general, working with a flushing marker is extremely simple. It is enough just to make a marking, finish sewing, and then put the fabric in cold water until the paint dissolves completely. Only after this material can be washed with soap, powders or detergents. It should also be taken into account that water, whose temperature exceeds the mark of 40 ° C, not only does not wash off the marking from the surface of the fabric, but also leads to the fixation of the paint. Therefore, in this case, removing traces from the markup will be much more difficult.
Disappearing tissue marker
In general, the disappearing markers seem to be the optimal solution for the implementation of relatively small embroidery schemes. Their application is acceptable both in color and light canvas.
Markers for black fabric
The presented type of products has the defining differences from the above devices. First of all, such markers allow creating white markings. In addition, they can be both erasable and washable. In the latter case, the package of the product will contain a corresponding note with the inscription aqua or water. In turn, on the disappearing markers for black tissue there is the designation air.
The main problem in the operation of products of this category is the gradual appearance of markup, which becomes clear only after a few minutes. On this basis, it is quite difficult to perform accurate marking with their help. Therefore, it is not surprising that when working with dark materials, needlewomen often resort to alternative options in the form of light pencils or an ordinary piece of soap.
Given the size of the work ahead, it is worth picking up markers for a dark fabric of a certain character. For example, it is absolutely irrational to use a device with a vanishing dye to mark up a large scheme.
