Marble decoration of India - Pearl Mosque. Agra, recognized as the world's treasury

The architectural heritage of the mysterious India is huge, and the exotic country is extremely proud of it. Perhaps the most famous buildings, recognized as genuine masterpieces of art, were created in the era of the reign of the Great Moguls. The people speak of a mighty dynasty as follows: "Rulers began as titans, and graduated as jewelers."

Agra, who keeps masterpieces of world art

The ancient capital of India, which is a major tourist center, is recognized as a real world treasure, which is famous for the most beautiful buildings protected by UNESCO. The majestic city of Agra was several centuries ago the capital of the Moghul state, and the name of one of the rulers - Shah Jahan - went down in history thanks to the most famous mausoleum, built in memory of his beloved wife. The surviving masterpiece is considered to be among the greatest monuments of architecture, but also of jewelery.

Emperor of the Great Moguls Shah Jahan brought the traditions of national architecture to perfection, and the highest Taj Mahal was recognized as the pinnacle of creativity, which hundreds of thousands of tourists dream of. For the first time masters of the padishah used white marble as a building material. However, not only the mausoleum complex, which produces a stunning effect on visitors, brought fame to the former capital of the country.

The snow-white mosque, located in the center of the Red Fort

Here is the Red Fort, shaped like a half moon, whose style harmoniously combines elements of Hindu and Islamic architecture. It is a unique ensemble consisting of six royal palaces, where there were private quarters of rulers, and two mosques. Now an amazing red brick fortress is partially open to foreign guests, and on its territory is a wonderful marble masterpiece. Arab, Hindu, Persian motifs served as the basis for the style, named after the emperor, the Shahjahani.

In its very heart there is an ornament not only of the ancient capital of the country, but of all India - built by the brilliant masters during the reign of the padishah, the Pearl Mosque. Agra is proud of the greatest creation, built under a slight slope. The shining domes of the building, repeating all the irregularities of the surface, seem even higher when approaching.

Luxury construction

Lined with white marble, the Moti Masjid worship facility, towering above the bright red fort, is recognized as one of the most popular tourist destinations. The brilliant dome of the mosque, bewitching special beauty, shimmers in the sunlight with shades resembling the color of pearls. It seems that it really is made of a stone that does not require cutting. That is why the religious and historical landmark received its beautiful name, and local residents often call the mosque "mother-of-pearl".

Similar to a huge gem, it was built by the emperor, who began his day with morning prayers. The luxury of the architectural masterpiece is amazing even for many tourists. Amazing Pearl Mosque (Agra) is crowned with three snow-white domes, which are incredibly similar to those that adorn the temple of St. Basil the Blessed in Moscow.

Air architectural design

The building that appeared in the XVII century, having perfect architectural proportions, seems easy and airy due to the color and a large number of passes. White marble, which is lined with domes, so similar to pearly beads, gives them an exquisite pearly shade, and the roof itself is erected on sandy walls of purple color. In the floor of the mosque is mounted a monolithic piece of marble of black shade, reminiscent of a rug for prayer.

Galleries where you can pray alone

Decorated in Persian style Pearl Mosque (Agra) is famous for its picturesque garden, located along the spacious interior courtyard of the stone masterpiece, and covered carved galleries with passages that are supported by high arches. A significant number of offices is due to the fact that everyone wanted to retire indoors and raise their prayers to God at any moment.

Pearl Mosques of India

It should be noted that Muslim Indian architecture is incredibly diverse, and during the reign of the Great Moguls a new era of mosque construction began. There were unique structures, the glory of which was spread all over the world. The first mosque of the country Cheraman Juma was erected in the 7th century, and ten centuries later the prayer structure Moti Masjid in Delhi, built by the son of Shah Jahan, Aurangzebom, appeared. It received the unofficial name of the Pearl Mosque.

Agra is not the only city where there is a sample of religious architecture, the domes of which are sparkling in the sun like a jewel. Moti Masjin consists of two minarets and four corner towers. The mosque is called the chapel of Aurangzeb - the padishah of the Great Moguls, in which the empire achieved the greatest power.

It is believed that the ribbed domed bulbous dome indicates the emergence of Baroque style in architecture. Initially they were gilded, but after the Sipaisk uprising, the destroyed chapters of the mosque were restored in white marble, beautifully playing in the light. A mini copy of the building in Delhi is Moti Masjid, built in Bhopal in the 19th century by the order of the Queen of the City. During the reign of Sikander Jahan Begum, there was a noticeable strong influence of the architecture of the Great Moguls, therefore this structure is of special interest for tourists.

Visiting faraway India gives a lot of positive emotions and genuine aesthetic pleasure. Acquaintance with the architectural sights immerses in the mysterious atmosphere of antiquity, and everyone who has visited the country, bewitching special color, keeps its warmth in its heart.
